The floor of your mouth: another tiny area with absolutely no interest in minding its own business.
These muscles and fascia help support tongue and jaw movement, and when they get tight or sensitive, they can quietly join the rest of the jaw drama.
This self-release is not about aggressively hunting for a knot.
Go slowly. Use gentle pressure. Notice where the tissue feels more restricted or tender, and give it a little time.
Then check your work:
Does your tongue move differently?
Does your mouth open more easily?
Does your jaw feel different at rest?
Movement is information.
For intraoral self-care, start with freshly washed hands or a clean disposable glove, with short, smooth fingernails. And be nice to the delicate tissues under your tongue. They did not ask to be excavated.
Save this one and reassess your movement over time.
