π Denver delivered!
CO-AMTA showed up in force for the 2026 AMTA National Convention, and having it in our own backyard made it something special.
The highlight? Our own Nancy Specian, board member and Education Director, was honored with her 25-year AMTA service milestone pin. Twenty-five years of showing up for this profession and for Colorado's massage therapists. Congratulations, Nancy β richly deserved. π
A few things Nancy brought home for us:
π The education was strong. Sessions on the mechanisms of chronic pain, hospital-based massage therapy, advanced clinical assessment and reasoning, oncology massage, and working with vulnerable populations. Big theme across all of it: meet every client exactly where they are, always ask permission, and know that we can meaningfully reduce pain even when we can't erase it.
π€ AI came up β a lot. The Assembly of Delegates spent real time on where artificial intelligence fits in our scope of practice, our ethics, and our client data. This conversation is just getting started, and Colorado intends to be part of it.
π£οΈ Chapters talked to each other. Smaller chapters, communication that actually reaches members, stronger delegate engagement β practical problems, practical ideas.
π₯³ And the Colorado Social was a blast. Great food, great conversation, old friends and new ones. A very good time was had by all.
πΊοΈ Mark your calendars: Savannah 2027 Β· Chicago 2028 Β· Seattle 2029
More on how this shapes our chapter education calendar coming soon. Nancy came back with a long list of ideas. π
