Healthcare costs keep rising. HR’s hours in the day don’t. 👏

Employers surveyed project an average 11% increase in health benefit costs per employee in 2027 without cost-reduction action... And an 8.2% increase even after planned changes!

Meanwhile, HR is juggling open enrollment, employee questions, compliance, and everyday responsibilities. Finding time to build and manage a proactive wellness strategy? That’s another job on an already full plate.

Yet helping employees take a more proactive approach to their health deserves a place in the cost-management conversation. At Workplace Wellness, we help employers put that into practice.

We bring benefits guidance, wellness resources, challenges, and rewards into one easy-to-use app. Combined with real people, workshops, newsletters, and ongoing engagement support.

That means less day-to-day wellness coordination for HR and more opportunities for employees to understand their full benefits package, build healthy habits, and use the resources you’re already investing in.

Healthcare costs require a broader strategy. Helping employees engage with their health and benefits is the part we help you put into action.

💬 HR professionals: What would help you feel more supported in tackling these challenges?

Real people. Real progress. Real impact.

This is what workplace wellness is all about!

We love seeing employees turn small, consistent actions into meaningful progress and feel stronger and healthier along the way.

Because the best reward is how you feel.

This week’s Movement Snack is one of the basics for a reason.

Squatting builds lower-body strength while training a movement you use all day long, sitting down, standing up, lifting and getting off the floor.

Tuesday challenge: 10 squats × 3 rounds throughout your day.

Bodyweight works. Want more? Hold a dumbbell or two!

Small doses of strength still count.

Looking for cost savings from your wellness program? Start with how it supports and engages your employees.

Gallup found that teams in the top quarter of employee engagement, compared with those in the bottom quarter, had:

📉 78% lower absenteeism
📈 14% higher productivity, measured through production records and evaluations
💰 23% higher profitability

Effective wellness initiatives can help strengthen engagement by connecting benefits, making support easier to use, and building meaningful connections. That gives wellness a practical role in supporting the business outcomes associated with engagement.

This is what we do at Workplace Wellness: combine our digital platform with human engagement to bring benefits together and help employees put those resources into action throughout the year.

The eight opportunities in this graphic show what that can look like. Which could make the biggest difference for your employees?

If you’re looking to build a more connected wellness experience, reach out— we’d love to share more about how we can help. 😊

No wellness budget? That doesn’t necessarily mean a wellness program is off the table. 👀

Before assuming there isn’t room for one, consider these 3 potential funding sources:

1️⃣ Wellness dollars through your health plan
During open enrollment or renewal season, ask your broker or carrier whether wellness dollars, health improvement funds, or similar funding are available.

Some of our clients have used these dollars to cover the entire cost of their Workplace Wellness program.

2️⃣ Grant funding
Nonprofits, government organizations, municipalities, schools, and other eligible organizations may have access to grant opportunities that support employee health and wellness initiatives.

Workplace Wellness has experience helping a client through the grant application process, including supporting the wellness portion of the application and demonstrating how funding could be applied toward their program.

3️⃣ Existing employee-engagement spending
Many organizations are already investing in challenges, incentives, workshops, employee events, fitness initiatives, or other wellness-related activities throughout the year.

Instead of treating wellness as an entirely new expense, those dollars may be able to be consolidated into one comprehensive, year-round program.

The goal isn’t always to find a brand-new budget.

Sometimes it’s about finding a smarter way to use the resources already available. 💡

A wellness program is so much more than what employees see on the surface. 🧊

Step challenges. Lunch & learns. Fitness classes. Rewards.

Those are the visible pieces.

But when wellness is implemented strategically, consistently, and for the long term, the impact can go much deeper: stronger engagement, healthier habits, better morale, reduced burnout, improved retention, greater productivity… and even lower healthcare costs over time. 📈

That’s why workplace wellness shouldn’t be viewed as an extra perk or a “nice-to-have.”

It should be normalized as part of how we build healthier people, stronger cultures, and better workplaces. 💙

The activities may be what people see. The outcomes are why we do it.

💻 Pathwell AI for HR: Turning engagement data into a stronger wellness strategy.

Collecting wellness data is helpful, but understanding what it means and what to do next is where its real value begins.

In today’s video, a credit union wellness administrator asks Pathwell to review the organization’s data, identify which wellness pillars, resources, rewards and competitions employees use most, and prepare three practical recommendations for the next quarter.

Pathwell will then turn those insights into a concise summary for leadership, all through one conversation and using only the organization’s own data.

Less time sorting through reports. More clarity to help HR make informed decisions and strengthen future wellness initiatives.

💻 Working from home does not always mean having more time to move. Sometimes, it means spending the entire day in back-to-back meetings.

In today’s Pathwell for Me, Kim realizes she is barely moving throughout her workday, but she does not need another long workout. She needs short, low-impact mobility breaks and achievable walking goals that fit realistically between calls.

Through one simple conversation, the Pathwell Wellness Coach will create a personalized Monday-through-Friday plan designed around her schedule, needs and preferences.

Because the most effective wellness plan is one employees can actually follow. 🚶‍♀️

🧘 Stress does not always end when the workday does.

For employees balancing work, family and everyday responsibilities, finding time to reset can feel nearly impossible.

In this week’s Pathwell for Me, Maya asks for simple mindfulness resources she can use for just 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes before bed. Through one conversation, Pathwell will help her find breathing techniques, meditation, low-impact stretching and calming sleep strategies that fit into her real life.

Because wellness support should meet employees where they are, even at home.
