Strict diets are appealing for a reason. They remove decisions, and they feel like discipline. 🙃

But a new 2026 review in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition took on the most common diet questions and misconceptions, and the answers kept landing in the same place: no magic macro ratio, no magic food, no magic eating window.

For endurance athletes, rigid rules come with a hidden risk: under-fueling.

Swipe for the cliff notes. Comment SUBSTACK to read my full breakdown in what’s relevant for endurance athletes.

(Fun fact: three of the review’s authors have been guests on the Endurance Eats Podcast!)

No matter your age, size, or how fast you cross the finish line, you’re worthy of fueling yourself well.

Health is not a size and neither is athlete status.

My dietitian team and I have worked with athletes of all shapes and sizes. The top priority is always health and supporting their active lifestyle.

Sometimes they have body comp/weight loss goals, and I want to honor that for them. And I love that they also want to still have the energy to train well and create an eating routine that’s sustainable. That’s our specialty!

Hear me out.

You are allowed to want to:

• feel lighter on the climbs
• see your training reflected in your body
• feel strong and comfortable in your skin
• pursue performance improvements that include body composition

BUT, I want to make sure of a few things before we head down that path:

1. Is your body comp goal realistic? Is the timing ideal?

2. Can we do this in a way that supports/improves your relationship with food and your body?

3. And, that you’re on board with improving body composition in the RIGHT way! AKA: supporting your health + preserving muscle mass and strength. No quick fixes, because we want sustainable, lasting results.

This is exactly what my team and I specialize in. We take personalized approach and closely monitor every single athlete we work with.

We focus on your goals to create a sustainable eating pattern that works for your busy schedule and lifestyle.

Is that fear costing you as an athlete?

If you’re…

Stuck in a performance plateau.
Constantly hungry
Tired all the time
Can’t stop thinking about food

It’s not a discipline issue, it’s an underfueling issue.

Eating enough is the foundation for a strong body.

This is exactly what I help athletes with in my 1:1 program. Comment SERVICES for more details and to fill out an application.

Nutrition consistency doesn’t come from willpower. It comes from reps.

Every time you fuel before a workout, eat a recovery meal, or build a plate that actually supports your training, that’s a rep!

And the reps add up.

Your nutrition is trainable. Just like your fitness.

We are accepting new athletes into our 1:1 program.

This time of year is fantastic to start building your reps and nutrition foundation (along with support through the holidays).
