Money touches nearly every part of our lives, yet many of us were never taught how to talk about it openly or recognize the beliefs that influence the choices we make around it.

On Wednesday, October 21, the Wild New Way Women’s Collective welcomes Maggie Emerson, a Money Mentor and Coach, for Women, Money & the Conversations We’re Not Having.

Maggie will invite us to look beyond the numbers and explore what we want, what we earn, what we ask for, and some of the beliefs that may be shaping our financial decisions. This gathering offers an opportunity to become more curious about our relationship with money and consider what might change when we begin having these conversations more openly.

The Women’s Collective is a welcoming gathering for women in Durango to slow down, connect, reflect, and explore meaningful topics together. Whether you’ve joined us before or this will be your first gathering, you are warmly welcome.

📅 Wednesday, October 21 | Doors open at 8:30 AM, with time for connection and conversation before we begin.
⏰ The gathering runs from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
📍 The Durango Collective, 1315 Main Ave., Durango
✨ FREE to attend | Registration Required

You’re also welcome to stay afterward if you’d like more time for conversation and connection.

The Women’s Collective Night Out is a relaxed way to spend an evening with other women in the Durango community, without a workshop, presentation, or formal agenda.

Join us on Monday, October 19 at 5:00 PM upstairs at Zia’s Cantina for conversation, connection, and time to simply enjoy being together.

These Night Outs were created because women wanted more opportunities to talk, reconnect, and get to know one another outside of the regular Women’s Collective gatherings. We’ll have a few optional conversation prompts available if helpful, but there is no expectation to use them or participate in any particular way.

If you have never attended a Women’s Collective gathering before, you are absolutely welcome to join us, including coming on your own.

Registration is requested so we know how many women to expect. You’re also welcome to stay as long as you’d like for continued conversation.

“Letting go of our images of who we are is a way of letting go of the known, which is our prison.” - Pema Chödrön

We all carry ideas about who we are, and many of those identities have been shaped by what we learned we needed to be in order to feel capable, accepted, needed, or safe.

You may think of yourself as the responsible one, the person who keeps everything together, the one who does not need much, or the one who always finds a way to manage. Those identities can feel so familiar that we stop noticing how much they influence the choices we make.

Growth sometimes asks us to question whether the version of ourselves we have known for years still fits the person we are becoming.

Letting go does not mean rejecting who we have been. It can simply mean making enough room to discover what else may be true about us now.

Never been to a Women’s Collective Monthly Open Gathering before?

Here’s what you can expect.

I create a relaxed, welcoming space where women can slow down and have thoughtful conversations about the things we’re navigating in everyday life.

I’ll guide us with questions and reflection, but this isn’t a lecture or a class. You may find yourself sharing something you’ve been thinking about, hearing another woman’s perspective that gives you something new to consider, or simply spending the morning listening.

All of those are welcome.

There’s nothing to prepare, no prior knowledge of Jungian psychology is needed, and there’s no pressure to have the right answer.

Being capable is often something we are proud of, and for good reason.

You learn how to solve problems, stay steady, keep things moving, and be the person others can rely on. Over time, though, being “the strong one” can become more than something you do well.

It can become part of who you believe you need to be.

That is when asking for help, admitting uncertainty, or letting someone else carry something for you can start to feel surprisingly uncomfortable.

My October blog, The Strong One Gets Tired Too, looks at what can happen when strength becomes an identity, and how vulnerability, dependence, and the desire to be cared for can become the parts of ourselves we are least willing to show.

The goal is not to become less capable. It is to have more room for the parts of you that do not always have it together.

What has been taking up space in your mind lately?

Maybe it’s a relationship you’ve been thinking about. A decision you keep turning over. A transition you’re still adjusting to. Questions about work, identity, purpose, or what you want next.

You don’t need to figure it out before you come.

The Women’s Collective Monthly Open Gathering gives women space to slow down, reflect, hear different perspectives, and talk honestly about what is showing up in their lives.

Or simply listen.

There is no right way to participate.

You can know yourself very well and still struggle to trust yourself.

You may understand why you react the way you do. You may recognize the patterns you repeat, know where they began, and even catch yourself in the moment they are happening.

But understanding a pattern intellectually is different from responding differently when something real is at stake.

When a decision could disappoint someone, change a relationship, create uncertainty, or ask you to step outside a familiar role, it can be surprisingly easy to override what you know and return to what feels familiar.

This is why insight is important, but it is not always enough to create change.

My work goes beneath understanding the pattern to explore what is keeping it in place, including the beliefs, emotions, protective responses, and deeper parts of ourselves that may still be influencing our choices.

A complimentary 1:1 Clarity Session gives you a chance to experience this work more personally and begin looking at what may be standing between knowing yourself and actually trusting yourself.

Move beyond understanding the pattern and begin changing it.

There’s nothing wrong with asking people you trust for perspective. But sometimes asking, “What do you think?” becomes a way of looking for permission instead of gathering input.

Over time, that can make it harder to trust your own judgment.

Swipe through to explore the difference between seeking perspective and giving someone else the final say.

If this is a pattern you recognize, a complimentary 1:1 Clarity Session can help you look at what may be making self-trust difficult.

Welcome to the Wild New Way Women’s Collective. 🌿

I created the Women’s Collective because I believe women need a place where we can slow down, connect with one another, and have meaningful conversations about the things we are actually navigating in our lives.

So much of life can be spent moving from one responsibility to the next. Between work, relationships, family, decisions, transitions, and the expectations we carry, it can be difficult to find space to notice what is happening within us and give it our full attention.

The Women’s Collective was created to offer that kind of space.

We gather regularly at The Durango Collective in Durango, Colorado for Monthly Open Gatherings, workshops, guest speakers, book clubs, and other experiences centered around reflection, connection, mindfulness, Jungian ideas, emotional empowerment, and a deeper understanding of the patterns shaping our lives.

You do not need any experience with Jungian psychology or mindfulness to join us, and you do not need to arrive with everything figured out. You are welcome to participate in the conversation, listen to the experiences of other women, meet new people, and take from each gathering whatever feels meaningful to you.

If you have been looking for more opportunities to connect with other women in Durango while making space for thoughtful conversation and reflection, I would love to welcome you. This is a safe and non-judgmental space where you can be fully yourself.

Follow the Wild New Way Women’s Collective here to stay connected and hear about upcoming gatherings, workshops, guest speakers, book clubs, and other events.

We gather at The Durango Collective in Durango, Colorado, and new women are always welcome.

If you would also like to explore your own patterns, relationships, or sense of purpose more deeply with me, you can book a free clarity session here: 👉 https://loom.ly/f2RxJuI

“It is the truth that liberates, not your effort to be free.” - Jiddu Krishnamurti

We can spend so much energy trying to change ourselves, fix a situation, or force our way toward an answer.

But sometimes freedom begins somewhere quieter: with seeing clearly what is actually happening.

Mindfulness gives us space to notice our thoughts, emotions, and patterns without immediately trying to change them. When we become willing to see ourselves more honestly, we may discover that awareness itself begins to loosen what has been keeping us stuck.

What truth might become clearer if you stopped trying to force an answer?
