The news: Leader Formulas voluntarily recalled one lot of RAPTURE Preworkout after FDA testing found DMAA, a stimulant that is not allowed in dietary supplements and can raise blood pressure. The recall notice is dated Oct 6–7, and national news coverage ran Oct 11–12. Separately, on Oct 13, a creatine product earned NSF Certified for Sport status, a reminder of what third-party screening looks like.* ** ***

The bigger lesson: supplements aren't approved before they're sold. For an extra layer of confidence, look for third-party programs like NSF Certified for Sport or Informed Sport, which screen for banned substances. And if a stimulant product leaves you with a racing heart or chest tightness, stop and talk to your doctor.
