Fun Fact Friday!

Did you know that simply listening to a musical rhythm can activate areas of your brain involved in movement—even when you’re sitting still?

Ever catch yourself tapping your toes or nodding along to a song? Sound and movement have a close connection!

At ReCre8, we explore that connection through rhythm, sound, gentle movement, and creativity. From rolling a tennis ball to tapping a steady beat, to finding a constant routine, there are so many ways to find your rhythm.

A small movement can be an invitation to pause.

Rolling a ball from hand to hand gives both sides of your body a chance to work together. You’re practicing coordination, noticing touch and movement, and giving your attention a simple rhythm to follow.

Try it along with me and notice: How do you feel before and after? Notice if your breathing changes. There’s no perfect response—just an opportunity to get curious.

A small pause. A little movement. A chance to find your rhythm.

What’s one thing you’d like to make easier in your everyday life?

Maybe it’s finding movement you enjoy, making time for a pause, or following through with habits that help you feel supported.

The Find Your Rhythm private wellness sessions offer space to explore that together—using rhythm, gentle movement, sound, and creativity, with activities chosen around your interests and goals.

We’ll start with what matters to you and find one small practice you can carry into your day. No musical or artistic experience needed.

Find your rhythm with a slow march.

Try adding a few slow steps to your morning routine—perhaps right before brushing your teeth!

Stand near a sturdy counter for support. Slowly lift one foot, gently place it down, then switch sides. Keep the lifts small and comfortable, moving at a steady, unhurried pace.

Notice:
• How does your weight shift before each foot lifts?
• Does one side feel different from the other?
• How smoothly can you lift and lower each foot?

Why try it? Slow marching gives you a chance to practice balance and controlled movement while paying attention to how your body moves—skills you use when walking and stepping through everyday life.

Start with a few comfortable steps. Use support as needed, and stop if you feel pain or discomfort.

Find your rhythm. Slow, steady, and curious.

Grab a piece of paper—even a sticky note—and finish these three thoughts with words, colors, drawings, or magazine pictures:

Maybe it’s music, a walk, time with your dog, connection, or a chance to try something new. There’s no right way to make it. A few words count, too!

Put your creation somewhere you’ll see it as a little reminder of what matters to you.

As the leaves begin to fall, consider what you might be ready to set down—even just for a moment. An expectation, a worry, or the pressure to have everything figured out.
