Another 6-week cuddle session with this precious little chunk! 🥹🤎

Watching him grow from the tiny baby I first placed into his mama’s arms into this happy, thriving little guy is such a beautiful reminder of how quickly these first weeks pass. His mama is matching his energy perfectly as his very own personalized milk maker—and it shows! 🍼

Their whole family is doing beautifully—blending, loving, growing, and finding their rhythm together. There is so much love within their home, and it has been such an honor to witness another sweet chapter of their family’s story.

They even sent me home with the most thoughtful gifts. They truly know their midwife: a protein shake, Diet Coke, and Bloom—my three favorite drinks! 😂🥤 It’s little moments like these that remind me how special the relationships I build with my families truly are.

The 6-week visit is always so bittersweet. I’m grateful to see everyone healthy and thriving, but my heart is never quite ready to close the chapter. These families become part of my heart long after our visits end.

Until the next little addition decides it’s time to join this beautiful family—I’ll be right here, ready to love and support them all over again. 🤍

This beautiful mama is absolutely rocking postpartum as she settles into life with the sixth addition to their precious family. 🤍

She and her husband trusted God through every step of their very first homebirth—surrendering their fears, leaning into their faith, and believing He would guide them through the journey.

Now, as they soak in these sacred newborn days, their hearts are overflowing with gratitude. They couldn’t be happier that they followed where God was leading them and chose to welcome their sweet baby at home.

The six-week postpartum visit is always so bittersweet. It’s hard knowing this beautiful chapter of our time together is coming to a close, but I’ll always be here, lovingly waiting to see what their next chapter holds.

They also blessed me with the most beautiful and thoughtful gifts—a reminder of just how special the families I serve become to me. I will treasure their kindness and this precious birth journey more than they know.

Six beautiful blessings. One faith-filled family. And a birth story they will cherish forever. ✨

She had never given birth before, yet she entered this experience without fear. She trusted her body, trusted her baby, and trusted the beautiful unfolding of birth. 🤍

With every wave, she softened. She leaned into each sensation instead of pulling away, surrendering more deeply as she waited for the moment her baby would finally be in her arms.

Her husband and sister never left her side—holding her, comforting her, whispering encouragement, and reminding her of her strength when the intensity grew.

And then, surrounded by love in the safety of her own home, she did exactly what her body was created to do. With incredible strength and complete surrender, she brought beautiful Camila earthside.

The moment Camila was placed into her mother’s arms, everything else seemed to disappear. The waiting was over. They had found each other. ✨

There is something so sacred about watching a woman become a mother for the very first time. It was an honor to witness her courage, her trust, and the love that filled the room as their family changed forever.

Welcome earthside sweet Camila. You were awaited, you were trusted, and you have been deeply loved from the very beginning 💖

This sweet mama always planned to welcome her baby at home with Whispering Lotus. But when high-risk complications arose during her pregnancy, those plans had to change—and a hospital birth became the safest option for her and her baby.

Due to fetal growth restriction, her baby needed to be born early. On August 5th, little Joey made his entrance into the world, weighing just 3 pounds, 4 ounces. After 5 weeks and 3 days in the NICU, he is officially a NICU graduate! 🎓🤍

Joey’s mom has shown incredible strength through it all. She faced a birth journey she never imagined and endured the uncertainty and heartache of a long NICU stay 👣. Yet through every difficult moment, she continued showing up for her baby with courage, love, and unwavering devotion. Her strength deserves to be seen and celebrated, too.

Although she had to transfer out of my homebirth care, my support for her never stopped. I continued checking in, offering encouragement, and supporting her family. Now that they are finally home, I have the honor of continuing their postpartum care.

Sometimes birth plans change—but care, connection, and love do not.

Once you are part of the Whispering Lotus family, you will always be part of the family. 🌿

Welcome home, sweet Joey. You are tiny, mighty, and so deeply loved ❤️!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the courageous first responders who ran toward danger to help others.

May we honor their memory by choosing compassion, unity, service, and love. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

MIDWIFE CONFESSIONS 🤍

There are parts of being a midwife that you don’t always see.

The middle-of-the-night phone calls.
The meals left unfinished.
The plans that change in an instant.
The moments I miss with my own family so I can be present for one of the biggest moments in yours.

But there’s also this…

I pray for your babies before I ever meet them.
I think about you after I leave your home.
I worry about you. I celebrate with you.
I get attached to those sweet babies I watched grow beneath your heart.
And yes… sometimes I sit in my car after a birth and just take it all in.

Because no matter how many births I attend, birth never becomes “just another day at work.”

Being invited into your home, your vulnerability, your family, and the moment you meet your baby is something I will never take lightly.

And then somehow six weeks comes around, I hug you goodbye, and I genuinely miss you. 🥹

Midwifery asks a lot of my heart.

But what a privilege it is to spend my life witnessing women discover just how powerful they are.

These are the things your midwife might not always tell you.

❤️Your Midwife ,

Chloe

I’m a girls’ girl… and maybe that’s one of the reasons I was called to midwifery🤎

I want women to feel powerful in their bodies.
I want them to ask the questions.
I want them to know their options.
I want them to take up space in their birth room.

I’ll protect your peace when you’re deep in labor.
I’ll remind you who you are when you think you can’t do it anymore.
I’ll pray with you when you need it.
I’ll cry with you when that sweet baby finally takes their first breath.

And if your birth takes a turn you never planned for, I’ll still be right there reminding you that you did not fail.

Because being a midwife isn’t just about catching babies.

It’s about standing beside women during one of the most vulnerable, powerful, sacred moments of their lives.

I’ll always be a girls’ girl 🤎

✨ Whispering Lotus Baby #10 ✨

Sweet Sadie made her entrance swiftly, peacefully, and right into the water. 🤍

Her mama was strong, courageous, and completely surrendered to the power of birth. Beside her was the most incredible support—her husband, her doula, and a birth space that felt undeniably filled with the presence of Jesus.

And when Sadie arrived, that sacred space shifted into prayer—prayers for breath, prayers for life, prayers spoken over this precious baby girl. 🙏🏼

Birth is beautiful and powerful, but it can also be unpredictable. Moments can change quickly. As midwives, we prepare for those moments. We assess, respond promptly and efficiently, use our training and emergency equipment, and remain calm while providing the care that mama and baby need.

And then… the quiet after the storm. 🤍

Sadie, Mama, and Dad are now tucked into bed together—bonding, breastfeeding, resting, and soaking in those first sacred moments as a brand-new family of three.

Her mama’s favorite Scripture feels especially fitting for the story of Sadie’s birth:

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.” — Psalm 136:1

His love endured through every contraction.
Through every prayer.
Through every breath.
Through every moment.

Welcome earthside, sweet Sadie. 🌿🤍

Whispering Lotus Baby #10.

Sometimes the birth story changes… but the support never does. 🤍

This sweet first-time mama labored long and hard at home. She dug deep, worked through contraction after contraction, and eventually reached a point where she knew exactly what she needed: rest and pain relief.

She made the decision to transfer to the hospital for an epidural — and that decision was fully supported.

It was her choice.
A choice she felt confident making.
A choice that gave her the relief she needed.
And a choice she looks back on with no regrets.

Because choosing a homebirth doesn’t mean you have to prove anything. It doesn’t mean you have to endure beyond what feels right for you. And transferring to the hospital does not mean you failed.

It simply means the plan changed — and we continued to support the mama in front of us. 🤍

And my care didn’t end at the hospital doors.

Once this beautiful family was discharged and settled back into their home, I continued their postpartum care just as planned — frequent check-ins, breastfeeding and feeding support, watching sweet baby Leo’s weight gain, and making sure mama’s physical recovery was progressing well.

Because midwifery isn’t just about where your baby is born.

It’s about walking beside you through pregnancy, birth, the unexpected turns, and those tender first weeks of becoming a mother.

Her birth. Her body. Her choice. Her story. 🌿

And it was an honor to support every part of it.

Two weeks with sweet Caleb 💙How can something we waited so long for suddenly be going by so fast?

This mama is finding her rhythm in the newborn world — baby wearing, healing, adjusting, and making an incredible amount of nourishing milk for her sweet boy. He is absolutely thriving! Already 8 lbs 4 oz and very serious about his milk🤱🏽🥹

He’s spending these early days exactly where he belongs — tucked against his mama who can’t get enough of him and with a dad who looks at him completely in awe. There is just something so beautiful about watching this sweet family fall in love with their newest little person. 🤍

These postpartum visits always get me a little emotional. I watched this mama prepare for him, I witnessed the moment he entered the world, and now I get to watch her settle into motherhood with him.

The newborn days can feel long, but somehow the weeks are so incredibly short.

Soak it all in, sweet family. He’ll never be this little again🤍
