For those who want to know more about little Levi and what is going on with him and follow his medical journey read below.
This is Levi he was born a premie and is a twin to Jasper. Levi spent two weeks in the nicu due to blood sugar issue, temperature issue ( his body couldn’t keep it’s heat), and had feeding issues where he had a ng tube in and on og tube. Once we finally got discharged from the hospital he struggled with his weight and his temperature. We have seen his pediatrician so many times regarding his weight that they finally started to try different things like changing formula and ran a blood test. We still got no answers. While going through all of this he developed a large left inguinal hernia. It has been getting big since we caught it. The pediatricians did an X-ray that led to being seen by the er at children’s. This is where we learned Levi had a small PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale). An enlarged heart, three fractured ribs, and his blood tests came back abnormal. We were admitted to Children’s for four days. They ruled out everything that was basic, from abuse all the way to being a newborn genetic issue. They released us to go home and not even a week later we were back at Children’s being admitted for his weight. This time they ran different tests and those came back abnormal. His amino acids were abnormal and they wanted us to see a genetic specialist. A week goes by and we have went and seen a pediatric surgeon, a genetic specialist and they both want to do more tests on Levi. As of today we still don’t have a diagnosis for our little baby. All we know is he has something that is super rare and we are still waiting on his test results to come back. But, if Levi doesn’t gain a certain amount of weight by may 20th he will be getting admitted back to children’s hospital to get a g tube placed and while they do that they want to also do his hernia surgery.
I want to thank everyone for their support and taking time out of their day to read this. Thank you all for the continued prayers! 🫶
Down below will be pictures of his journey so far.
