Hugh Chatham Health is a full-service community health care system in North Carolina

Nestled in the western piedmont wine country of North Carolina, Hugh Chatham Health has provided high quality medical care for residents over a distinguished 95-year history. A not-for-profit hospital, HCH employs more than 900 and is served by more than 70 providers representing 25 specialties or subspecialties. In the 2025 Women's Choice Awards, the hospital received two awards - Best Hospital for Emergency Care and Best Hospital for Stroke Care, placing them in the top 10% nationally. In addition, Hugh Chatham Health is certified by The Joint Commission with the Advanced Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Accreditation, the highest distinction in total joint care.

Keeping the care you know and trust shouldn’t mean paying more. That’s why we’re launching our new Atrium Health Affordability Protection Program for enrolled North Carolina State Health Plan members.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, our new Atrium Health Affordability Protection Program is designed to give enrolled NC State Health Plan members the lowest copays and lowest overall cost-share available under the plan when they receive care from Atrium Health.

Open enrollment gives members the opportunity to select, keep or switch to an Atrium Health primary care provider, making it easier to access the trusted care and expertise of Atrium Health physicians and care teams.

For teachers, first responders, public servants and their families across North Carolina, this means greater peace of mind, more choice and more affordable access to primary, specialty, outpatient and hospital care.
