I think many of us become healers, facilitators, coaches, teachers, and practitioners because we learned very early on how to care for everyone else before we ever learned how to care for ourselves. And for years, I thought pushing through exhaustion was discipline. As an athlete, I was taught to override pain, perform, push harder. And I carried a lot of that into adulthood and into my healing work, at the start.
But eventually I realized something:
❤️🔥you can’t create genuine safety for others while continuously abandoning yourself in the process. Your nervous system knows
And people can feel the difference between someone performing warmth and care, and someone fully embodying it.
What do you think? ✨ Does the future of wellness and serving others ask us to become more honest about sustainability, regulation, rest, and how we care for ourselves, too?
