Last weekend remnants of Hurricane Isaías came through the Carolinas!
It was touch and go there for a bit, but we got the go ahead, and with the fortitude of "the show must go on," we dressed and readied ourselves for what we expected to be a slow, "rain day" at the festival.
To our surprise, "they came!" The patrons, that is; bedecked in rain gear, boots and umbrellas!
Ready for anything, we sat in soggy clothes and attended our patron friends.
Fortunately it was a warm rain, and Saturday evening my "buddy heater" kept me dry.
The only casualty in our "Gypsy camp" was the pop up, destined to bend under the rain water weight from the storm which continued through the night.

Sunday morning by 9 AM the rains stopped.
The site, though soggy, had absorbed most of the water. The parking lot was cleared for patrons, and our festival prevailed.

Welcome to the Carolina Renaissance Festival!

The backstage set up was an endurance test, but the hard work and dedication of colleagues and friends was a lesson in bonding and prepared us all for the weeks ahead.

Happy Opening to all! The festival runs from October 3rd through November 22nd.
Huzzah, and on with the show!

Much love to all,

Good morning! It's Friday September 25th and I'm sharing with you all a card from my Mother Mary Oracle deck.
"Our Lady of Answered Prayers" moves forward with wisdom in her heart. She understands that although she may be experiencing a time of deep prayer and reflection, she is never truly alone. Divine Spirit is always with us to carry our burdens, answer our prayers, and move us forward.
Have a beautiful day, friends!
