A client who'd tried massage, chiropractic, and more told me her relief used to last hours. After Neurassage, she said it lasted days. Her chiropractor told her adjustments were easier, even in areas that hadn't adjusted in over 10 years. 🌿

If you've been to a lot of places and nothing has lasted, you're not doing it wrong, and what you're feeling is real.

Here's how I approach it:

Before any technique, I do a thorough intake, because where we start matters. I listen to your whole history. Then I bring nearly 30 years in healthcare, as a nurse and massage therapist, to decide which of the modalities I'm trained in belong in your session: Neurassage, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral, acupressure, cupping.

What happens between sessions matters too. Sleep, hydration, stress, and movement all play a part, so we start with baby steps you can actually follow. Here's a small one to try this week: take one minute a day to breathe a little deeper, like inhaling for a count of 4 and exhaling for a count of 6 to 8 for a total of 1 minute.

Deep listening and an integrated approach are at the heart of every session.

What is one thing new you will commit to trying this week?

A normal lab result and feeling well are not the same thing. If you’ve been told “it’s normal,” read this.

If you’ve ever told yourself “it’s probably nothing” about something that’s been going on for months, this is for you.

Tests are useful tools. They’re also one piece of a bigger picture. How you’re sleeping, how much stress you’re carrying, and what it costs you to get through a normal day doesn’t always show up on one result.

So here’s what I’d bring to your next appointment. Three lines, written down before you walk in:

1️⃣ What it is and how often. (“Aching hips, most mornings, for about six months.”)

2️⃣ What it has changed. (“I stopped my evening walks.”)

3️⃣ What you’re asking. (“What would you want me to track, and what’s the next step if this doesn’t change?”)

You’re not asking anyone to be wrong. You’re giving them a clearer picture, and giving yourself a plan to walk out with.

I’m an RN. I can’t diagnose you or promise a fix. I can tell you that you deserve to be listened to, and that starting small counts. Baby steps are still steps.

Send this to the friend who’s been “fine” for months.

It’s always best to work with your own provider for medical advice about your symptoms. But if you find yourself needing additional support, please reach out to me. I would be honored to see how I can help.

But you’re still exhausted. Still hurting.

HABITS

I recently had a conversation with a client about the challenges of starting new habits.

Many times, we start and then forget, then when we remember again we often talk ourselves into believing, “I’ll never be able to do this” or “I failed at this” or “This is too hard” or any number of other things we tell ourselves—things that are not true, yet somehow we allow ourselves to believe.

Here is a quick video of a new habit that I recently started. I rolled it into my daily morning routine. If I just had to stand on my vibration plate for 10 minutes a day, I probably wouldn’t do it, as I am not one to just sit or stand doing “nothing”. However, standing on it while I am getting ready for the morning is super easy! And if for some reason I can’t or don’t do it in the morning, I still have another opportunity in the evening when getting ready for bed.

What new habits are you trying to start? What tricks do you use to keep you on track?

When was the last time you tried something new? Sometimes having a "beginner's mind" can help you press that restart button when you are feeling stalled or stagnant.

Knitting...hiking...joining a book club or just reading for 5 minutes per day...dancing in the kitchen...the list goes on!

What is one thing new you will commit to trying this week?

What are your thoughts about this? Have you tried any of these “techniques”?

What are your thoughts about this? Have you tried any of these “techniques”?

I love this post by Tj Power | Neuroscientist 📱

Your brain wasn’t designed for constant stimulation.

Every notification, endless scroll, and moment of distraction competes for your attention—and over time, it can reshape how you think, focus, and even feel.

But your nervous system also responds to the opposite.

A quiet morning. A walk without headphones. Reading a book. Sitting with your thoughts instead of reaching for your phone. Time in nature. Meaningful conversation. Even a few moments of boredom.

These are the best ways to reduce chronic stress, support your brain, improve attention, strengthen emotional resilience, and create space for creativity and deeper thinking.

Health isn’t only about what you eat. It’s also about what you consume with your eyes, ears, and mind every day.

Sometimes the most powerful medicine is creating enough space for your brain to function the way it was designed to.

Which one of these do you want to practice more often?
