Advances in therapies to improve function and relieve pain have revolutionized the way we can and will care for our musculoskeletal system. This is often referred to as regenerative medicine.

I have had to rehabilitate myself from decades of chronic pain. With a combination of bodywork, yoga, the TB12 Sports physical therapy and training program, and seeing a regenerative medicine doctor, I have become stronger, fitter, and more pain-free than I have been in 30 years.

Here are the top ways to keep your body in good working order and to repair and heal when you need help.

Engage in regular exercise, including aerobic conditioning, strength training, and flexibility.

Yoga is a powerful way to help the body relieve pain and decrease stress and can be done at any age.

Supplements can help build muscle, repair tissues and joints, and reduce inflammation. Try omega-3 fats, anti-inflammatory herbs and spices like turmeric, collagen peptides, bone broth, and glucosamine.

Work with a physical therapist and body coach if you have chronic issues. After my last back surgery, I used the TB12 Sports body coaches, who are trained in a special form of physical therapy that helps get to the root of the problems and heal chronic injuries.
