The Student Nurses' Association is the only association for the advancement of student nurses at George Mason University. The George Mason Student Nurses’ Association is made up of nursing students enrolled at GMU in either the pre-nursing, traditional nursing, accelerated nursing, or graduate level nursing degree programs.
George Mason Nursing students are unique in that we hold a high standard to what nursing practice is, we take pride in our work and learning, and continue to strive for excellence. We are highly dispersed throughout the Northern Virginia community for our clinical experience to include Fairfax county, Loudon county, Prince William county, Stafford county, Fredericksburg, and other varying locations. We are in the hospitals, in the schools, at community settings such as health departments, in out patient facilities, and in community programs. We work to improve our health profession through personal and team development, keeping ourselves updated and informed, and being involved in our communities. *Disclaimer- any posts, images, or comments made on this page have not been approved or do not reflect the views of George Mason University or the School of Nursing. Mission: Our mission is to organize, represent and mentor students preparing for licensure as registered nurses. We aim to promote the development of skills needed to be responsible and accountable members of the nursing profession; to offer chances for community service, and to advocate high quality health care. The George Mason University Student Nurses' Association (SNA) fully supports the Virginia Nursing Student Association (VNSA) and the National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA). Involvement in SNA prepares students for involvement in professional associations upon graduation.

POSSIBLE MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITY
• The SNA board has been exploring the idea of a possible junior/senior mentorship program. This program would allow juniors to have a senior mentor that you can turn to with any questions of nursing-school related needs you might have. This includes study tips, learning about internships/externships, and just having someone to talk to. This will also allow for senior students to take on a leadership and guidance role. For this to work we need junior and senior interest! Please fill out the survey below so that we can see your interest and ideas.
