Our Calendula Salve is our OG salve. 🌿 It was the first salve we ever crafted, and we loved it so much that it became the start of our whole salve line.

Calendula is one of those simple, gentle ingredients we keep coming back to. This salve is soothing, moisturizing, and calming for dry, irritated skin…and it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin, too!

We’ve had several customers tell us it’s been especially helpful for their eczema-prone skin, and we’ve noticed the same gentle, soothing feel on our own sensitive skin.

Made with organic calendula, jojoba oil, and local beeswax, it’s a simple little jar of goodness for your skin. 🤍🌿

So, what’s actually in our Sleepytime Salve? 🌿

I love using this as part of our bedtime routine. I’ll rub a little onto my kids’ feet, wrists, or behind their ears, and the calming herbal + essential oil aroma is such a nice way to help everyone slow down and settle in for the night.

And I love knowing what’s in it. Every ingredient is organic, the beeswax is locally sourced, and the essential oils come from a local company. Each ingredient was chosen for a reason…from nourishing and moisturizing the skin to creating a calming, grounded aroma.

It’s simple, it smells amazing, and it’s become one of my favorite things to use when we’re winding down for the night. 🌙

🌿 Why we let our herbs take their time

There are faster ways to make an infused oil, but we choose to cold infuse ours.

Cold infusion simply means letting our herbs slowly steep in oil over time, without adding heat. It takes more patience, but we love this method because it gives the herbs time to gently release their oil-soluble compounds while helping preserve their delicate natural properties.

✨ Gently draws out the herbs’ beneficial oil-soluble compounds
✨ Helps maintain the natural qualities of the oil
✨ Creates a rich, botanical-infused oil that’s naturally nourishing for your skin

When you heat herbs, some delicate compounds can be affected by the heat, especially with prolonged or higher temperatures. Cold infusion gives us a slower, gentler way to extract what we’re looking for.

So yes, it takes longer. But when it comes to the ingredients we put on our skin, we’re okay with taking our time. 🤎🌿

Sometimes, you just have to let Mother Nature do her thing.

🌿 Ingredient Spotlight: Organic Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is an ingredient we use in both our salves and tallow balm, and for good reason.

Its composition closely resembles the skin’s natural oils, making it a wonderful choice for moisturizing and nourishing the skin without feeling heavy or greasy.

It’s naturally rich in vitamin E and skin-loving fatty acids, helping keep skin soft, smooth, and moisturized while supporting the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

And, of course, we use organic jojoba oil because the ingredients we choose matter. 🤎🌿
