Cold… or allergies? Sometimes it can be hard to tell! 🤧🌸

A runny nose, sneezing and congestion can happen with both, but there are a few clues that may help:

🔵 Colds often include a sore throat, cough, fatigue, body aches or a low-grade fever and typically improve within 7–10 days.

🟢 Allergies are more likely to cause itchy, watery eyes, frequent sneezing and clear nasal drainage—and symptoms may stick around as long as you’re exposed to the allergen.

😂 Things we can say to our pediatric patients that probably wouldn’t go over quite as well with our adult patients…

🩺 “Okay, BIG breath! Show me how big you can make your belly!”

👂 “I’m just going to take a peek in your ear… WOW, you have an ear in there!”

😮 “Open REALLY wide and say AHHHHHH!”

💉 “You were SO brave! Do you want a sticker?”

🧸 “Who came with you today? Is that your stuffed animal’s doctor too?”

And somehow… it works. ❤️
