Let’s become the medicine we seek.
✨🌱
If a fellow herbalist, call it eco herbalism, reciprocal herbalism, untamed herbalism.
It doesn’t really matter as it’s just a new term for an old way. It has been done for centuries by indigenous folks who know the wild as kin.
🌳
Tend to the plants and our neighbors in nature as they tend to us.
🐾
Walk among instead of on.
🌿
Work with a plant instead of using it. “What do you use this plant for?” “Nothing. I work with it for a variety of benefits though.”
🌊
Talk to the river instead of drying it up with chatgbt. The answers you get will be much deeper and reflective of the knowledge you actually seek.
🍄
Be community over consumer, connection over control.
🍂
Slow medicine over rapid release capsules.
🐿️
Feed the squirrels during famine who will then plant keystone oaks for us all.
🍁
Leave dead native plants standing for our insect neighbor’s shelter and bird neighbor’s food.
🌱
Gather with gratitude and tell the stories of the “weeds” (wildlings) to save us all from damaging herbicides.
🍃
Tear down the walls that separate us from our wildest selves and home and feel the tension melt away as the overly restrictive walls come crumbling down.
