Arc for the River Valley The Arc offers a wide variety of exciting and stimulating activities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

There are more than 4.6 million Americans who live with an intellectual or developmental disability (I/DD). At the local level, in Sebastian and Crawford counties alone, 25% of children/adults are living with a "cognitive disability" that impacts their lives. These individuals need services and support to become valued, contributing members of their communities. The Arc for the River Valley focuses on providing recreational activities as well as advocacy and educational support for individuals with I/DD and their caregivers. The Arc serves a membership of over 460 members. With your past support we were able to continue to keep our member dues low, to keep our activities and events free, and to provide free snacks and drinks to members. To continue our current services as well as add new ones, we need your continued support. Due to the economic issues, 2020 was a difficult year financially for all non-profits. Please consider giving a tax deductible donation to the Arc for the River Valley. Your donation will help us continue to provide support and services to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc for the River Valley is a proud United Way partner agency. Here’s a sneak peek at just a few of the amazing baskets that will be available at our Bark for the Arc silent auction tomorrow!

With around 40 baskets up for grabs, there will be plenty of opportunities to bid on something special while supporting The Arc for the River Valley!

Join The Arc for the River Valley for Embark with The Arc Gala on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the U.S. Marshals Museum in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with happy hour from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a w**e pull, a silent auction, and special presentations from MC Daren Bobb and keynote speaker Michael Wayne O’Neill, an advocate for inclusion. This special evening brings our community together to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and the programs that provide opportunities, meaningful activities, and greater independence. Every contribution helps The Arc continue making a difference and creating a brighter tomorrow.

Bark for the Arc Dog Registration Reminder!

We’ve had some confusion regarding how to register your dogs for Bark for the Arc this Saturday, October 24th, so we wanted to provide some clarification!

All dogs participating in Bark for the Arc must be registered using the link below.

To make the process easier, follow these simple steps:

1. Click the registration link below.
2. Fill out the form with your information and your dog’s details.
3. Double-check that all information is correct.
4. Click “Submit” at the bottom of the form to complete your registration.

What a great time we had last night at The Arc annual Halloween Dance! There were over two hundred Arc members and staff who attending making this one of our biggest turn outs ever! Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and the Fort Smith Senior Center we could not do what we do without your support!
