Breaking news from Capitol Hill! The ENA-priority Effective Suicide Screening and Assessment in the Emergency Department Act (H.R. 4861) was passed by the House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support.
The bill would improve the identification and treatment of at-risk patients. The passage of this bill is especially timely given the detrimental effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on mental health. ENA is urging Senate leaders to take up this bipartisan bill before the end of the session. Thank you Reps. Gus Bilirakis and Rep. Eliot Engel for your leadership on this much-needed bill.
Submit a letter to your Senator in support of this bill now: https://bit.ly/2EJnFTM.
FYI. Please be safe out there and cautious. As per EMS inaccessible roads still. Check in when you can if you are safe.
