🎂 Texas Breastfeeding Center is 3 today! 🩵

When I think about where it all started, I think about these two (swipe to see!). 🥹

My girls are the reason behind so much of what TBC became. My own motherhood journey showed me how beautiful, vulnerable, exhausting, and transformative this season can be—and how much having the right support matters.

Three years ago, TBC began in the Rio Grande Valley as one of the early private-practice resources bringing professional lactation support into families’ homes after delivery. Those roots will always be part of who we are. 🌴

Since then, we’ve grown and evolved, but our heart remains the same: meeting families where they are, honoring their goals, and helping them feel supported and confident.

To every family who has trusted us along the way—thank you. And to my girls, you are the reason for it all. Watching you grow while this dream grew alongside you has been one of my greatest privileges. 🥹🩵

Y cuando pienso en dónde comenzó todo, pienso en ellas dos. 🥹

Mis niñas son la razón detrás de mucho de lo que llegó a ser TBC. Mi propia experiencia como mamá me enseñó lo hermosa, vulnerable, agotadora y transformadora que puede ser esta etapa—y cuánto importa tener el apoyo adecuado.

Hace tres años, TBC nació en el Valle del Río Grande, siendo uno de los primeros recursos de práctica privada en llevar apoyo profesional de lactancia directamente a los hogares después del parto. Esas raíces siempre serán parte de nuestra historia. 🌴

Desde entonces hemos crecido y evolucionado, pero nuestro propósito sigue siendo el mismo: acompañar a cada familia, respetar sus metas y ayudarlas a sentirse apoyadas y seguras.

A cada familia que ha confiado en nosotros—gracias. Y a mis niñas, ustedes son la razón de todo esto. Verlas crecer mientras este sueño crecía junto a ustedes ha sido uno de mis mayores privilegios. 🥹🩵

To say I'm a combination of both excited AND dyinggg of nervousness for this AMAZING opportunity does not even begin to cover ANY of ALLLLLLLL the emotions I've been feeling lately.

No cabe duda que Diosito abre puertas, y ventanas, y hasta pedacitos de espacios para encontrar las oportunidades y la luz. Solo hay que buscarlas y aprovecharlas.

Last week, our finalists kicked off 12 weeks of coaching, collaboration and pitch preparation. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their pitches, learn from one another, and explore new opportunities to grow their work and expand their impact.

Their work spans some of our community’s biggest priorities, including financial security, community health, youth opportunity and community resiliency.

Then in November, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, they’ll take the stage to pitch their work and compete for a share of $75,000 in seed funding.

We’re excited to cheer them on as they take their work to the next level! Thank you to SCORE Mentors for mentoring this year’s finalists and TechFW for providing programming to help them prepare. Stay tuned as we follow them along on their journeys.

⚠️ FDA on Snoo products

Important update for SNOO Smart Sleeper users:

If you have, or are considering purchasing a SNOO Smart Sleeper, please be aware that its manufacturer, Happiest Baby, Inc., has been selling new sleep sack sizes and hospital SNOO bassinet bundles without first undergoing FDA review and obtaining FDA authorization.

The FDA strongly cautions patients, caregivers and health care providers that the X-Small and X-Large sleep sacks, and the SNOO Hospital Bundle, have not been evaluated for safety and effectiveness by the FDA and pose increased risks as described in the Warning Letter. The FDA also cautions that stains, soiling and unsanitary conditions have been reported on refurbished SNOOs distributed to customers, which may pose risk of infection. The FDA also cautions that mold has been reported on SNOO Smart Sleeper mattresses and/or mattress covers. Users should report any problems with SNOO products through the MedWatch Voluntary Reporting Form.
