You don't have to be perfect to be worth it.
Somewhere along the way, while navigating this thing called life, we convinced ourselves that we have to fix everything before we are deserving of love, happiness, opportunity, success, or connection.
We tell ourselves:
"When I lose the weight..."
"When I get out of debt..."
"When I heal completely..."
"When I find the right job..."
"When my life is finally together..."
Then I'll be ready.
Ready for what?
Love?
Purpose?
Joy?
The blessing?
Peep this...
There is somebody who will love you with six kids. Somebody who will love you after divorce. Somebody who will love you with a bald head, knock knees, stretch marks, scars, baggage, debt, doubts, and all the things you spend your time apologizing for.
It's not that those things don't exist.
It's that they don't define your worth.
Nah, that's not an excuse to stop growing and evolving. It's not permission to stop showing up as your best self every day.
Because showing up as your best self is as perfect as it gets.
What more can anyone ask of you than your best?
What more can you ask of yourself?
Too many of us spend our lives waiting for the perfect opportunity, the perfect relationship, the perfect house, the perfect timing, the perfect job, or the perfect version of ourselves.
And while we're waiting, life keeps moving.
Opportunities pass.
People pass.
Blessings pass.
Not because they weren't meant for you, but because they didn't arrive wrapped in the package you expected.
The house may not look exactly like the one you pictured.
The job may not come with the title you wanted.
The relationship may not begin the way you imagined.
The person may not come in the box you've decided they need to be in.
The help may not come from the person you expected.
And the blessing may not show up with a pretty bow and a big-ass sign that says, "HEY! I'M YOUR BLESSING!"
Sometimes we dismiss what we've prayed for simply because it arrived in a package we didn't recognize.
It didn't "feel" perfect.
I say to you: STOP waiting to become perfect before you give yourself permission to live, love, receive, and be seen.
I am talking to myself.
You don't have to be perfect to be worthy.
You don't have to have it all together to deserve good things.
You don't have to fix every flaw before someone sees your value.
Show up as your best self.
That's all any of us can do.
And honestly, that's as perfect as it gets.
Mess and all. 💜
