Peer supporters, this one’s for you.

What an officer tells you stays confidential. What you tell them doesn’t get that same protection.

Sharing a piece of your story can build trust fast. Sharing too much can put your life details in the hallway at work.

Decide ahead of time what you’re willing to share and what’s off-limits, so you’re holding boundaries on purpose.

We cover this in our 8-hour TacMobility-trained peer supporter module, live and virtual on Oct 20.

Peer support teams get it for $97 with code TEAM97.

The people who check on everyone else are usually the last ones anyone checks on.

People can be so quick to judge their efforts and talk about the problems at the agency here within the program without realizing that there is a real human that has been tasked with trying to make a difference and move the needle of the agency well in a positive direction.

Your traps run a lot farther than the top of your shoulders.

They stretch all the way down into your mid-back, and that whole area becomes a hot mess when you’re stressed.

For example: when ur shoulders are up by your ears. Head dropped to look down at reports. Chin pushed forward to read the MDC, a computer screen, or a street sign you can barely see.

Elevate hips, place massage ball (cork here) in between spine and shoulder blades. Hug yourself to spread your shoulder blades, move your arm up and down and let your weight settle in. Slow breaths. Move the ball up an inch at a time.

If you built the program and you’re still waiting for cops to walk through the door, you’re going to be waiting a while.

Engagement takes a plan. Who hears from you, how often, and from whom they actually trust.

That’s what we build in the Advanced Peer Support Playbook. One day, virtual, Oct 20.

Peer support teams get it for $97 this week with code TEAM97.

Hot take: recruiting starts with how you treat the patrol officers you already have.

Cops still want to do police work. What they don’t want is to work for agencies that treat them like s**t.

When an agency rolls out a $15K hiring bonus while the people working mandatory OT get nothing, the message lands loud and clear. You don’t matter. This is a show.

And when command keeps trying to fit 1998 into 2026 policing, the disconnect gets wider every year.

My prediction: if nothing changes, we’ll see some kind of police strike by 2035. Officers are already screaming it. Treat us better. Pay us better.

Agree or disagree? Tell me in the comments.

If you’re in leadership and want to fix this before your best people walk, comment LRT and I’ll share one of my favorite leadership reflections šŸ¤˜šŸ½

Most agencies have plenty of resources. The online blogs have been consumed āœ”ļø

And yet, they’re still missing a way for those resources to talk to each other, and a way for officers to know which one to call.

We build that in the Advanced Peer Support Playbook. Virtual, Oct 20.

$97 for peer support teams this week with code TEAM97.
