Dear runners;

In an effort to keep everyone safe due to COVID-19, the 12k's of Christmas has decided to go virtual this year.

We are dedicated to keeping this long-standing event on the calendar for 2020 and invite you to join us virtually. It will be a change from our past live events, but your participation will still help our local pet rescue shelters. The race has a long-standing commitment to the charitable community, over the past 11 years, the 12k's of Christmas has raised over $100,000 for pet rescue.

Events will include the 12k 's of Christmas 12k run, 6k run/walk, and 1.2k dog walk. Great SWAG will be shipped out before the event date so you can post pictures from your virtual event of choice. Strike a pose in your 12k's of Christmas gear with family, friends, and of course, all pets welcome to photobomb.

Please do plan on joining us for our first-ever virtual event and share your experiences virtually. BUT, we can’t wait to welcome our runners and volunteers back in person…and we look forward to seeing you in person again real soon! A hint maybe the Kiss I'm Irish Run in March??

Fleet Feet Scottsdale, 12k's of Christmas, and Mesquite River Brewery will be celebrating National Running Day with an 5k untimed fun run:


Date: Wednesday June 5th

Time: 7 pm

Location: Mesquite River Brewery on Scottsdale Road


There will be prizes including a raffle for a free pair of shoes from the store. Order your beer before you leave for the run and it will be waiting for you when you return.


The Big Run is on June 5 in celebration of Global Running Day. This year’s event consists of more than 100 running events taking place throughout the day across 32 states.

Now in its third year, The Big Run welcomes runners of all ages, levels, and abilities. Stores participate either by holding a timed, certified 5K race or a fun run. Sponsored nationally by Brooks, and supported locally by Nuun. The Big Run welcomed over 16,000 participants nationwide in 2018 and is expected to top 20,000 participants this year.



The results from timed, certified 5K (ours is untimed so will not be part of the results) races will funnel up into a national leaderboard to determine the overall fastest runners of the day nationwide, as well as age group winners. Winners receive cash prizes. Fleet Feet and Brooks will also present prizes for unique categories, including:
IN THE MIDDLE OF IT ALL: The male and female who finish in the exact middle of all finishers in the country in their gender receive $500!
COMMON GROUND: Each person who finishes at the most common finish time across the country is entered into a drawing for $500!
SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES: Any participant who posts a photo on social media from The Big Run and includes #TheBigRun @FleetFeetSports, @BrooksRunning is eligible to win one of three sets of Brooks x Fleet Feet mini-portable Bluetooth runners' speakers, provided by Brooks!
