Keeping It in the Family ❤️

Life came full circle today when my daughter got to help with a flu clinic after school for a company that holds a very special place in her heart.

I spent about 10 years working at Tank Connection, from middle school and high school all the way through pharmacy school. I started out cleaning offices and eventually worked my way into a “summer intern” position in the business world while earning my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, which didn’t make a lot of sense.

Looking back, that business experience helped shape me in more ways than I could have imagined. But the greatest gift was being part of a company that meant so much to me. I had the opportunity to work alongside my dad, then my brothers, my husband, and so many others who became like family along the way.

It’s always a joy to return to TC once a year, but this year was a little more special. ❤️ Getting to bring my daughter along and watch her be part of something that played such a meaningful role in my own life made it that much sweeter.

Some things really do come full circle, and getting to share a little piece of your own story with your kids is one of the sweetest feelings.

I know Papa Mike was beaming with pride today.🥹❤️

Many people don’t realize that when a pharmacy is open, a pharmacist must be present. As a one-pharmacist store, I very rarely get the opportunity to step away and spend time out in the community during business hours.

A couple of weeks ago, Kendra and I were out around town all day providing flu vaccinations for businesses in the community. We had about 10 minutes between clinics, so we took the opportunity to stop by the Girard General Store—and it did not disappoint!

The owner shared so many fond memories of the old Mathis Drug Store downtown and even has a set of tables and chairs from the original store. We absolutely loved hearing the stories and learning more about the history of Mathis Drug Store. And the fall-inspired homemade caramel pecan ice cream was to die for! 🍂🍦

We truly enjoyed our brief visit, reminiscing, visiting, and learning more about a piece of our business and community’s history. It was such a special little stop in the middle of a busy day! ❤️
