By providing a medical home to those who have had limited or nonexistent health care HHC is working to increase patient participation in their health care.

Heartland Health Center staff came together to write hundreds of encouragement cards in collaboration with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). These cards will be included in Hope Kits to breast cancer patients and make a huge impact in their journey. Our second annual Heartland Health Center Trunk-or-Treat was a HUGE success, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing community partners and dedicated team members!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so fun and memorable for our community. A special shout-out to Monster Truck Night Life for making a special appearance and adding even more excitement to the evening!

Healthy lifestyle choices are important but not enough alone. We must regularly look out for any breast abnormalities and seek medical advice with any concerns. This is known as breast awareness. Some women prefer to perform self-examinations. This can help. But the most important action is to be routinely monitoring our breast for any abnormality and reporting any concerns to your health care provider.

Adoptar un estilo de vida saludable es importante, pero por sí solo no es suficiente. Debemos estar atentas regularmente a cualquier anomalía en los senos y buscar asesoramiento médico ante cualquier preocupación. Esto se conoce como conciencia o autoobservación mamaria.
