🏴☠️ THE STORY BEHIND SHIPWRECK
Before KAI, there was The Pirate Ship.
Joey and Kelsey rebuilt a 50-foot sailboat in San Diego, called it home, and sailed 2,500 miles south to Nicaragua. For three unforgettable years, they chartered the Nicaraguan coastline, sharing the adventure with thousands of people from around the world.
Then everything changed. While Joey was back in the States recovering from a paragliding accident, a historic hurricane struck Nicaragua’s Pacific coast. Despite every effort to save her, The Pirate Ship was lost along with every boat in the bay.
That shipwreck ultimately brought Joey back to Colorado-and set him on the path that would become KAI.
SHIPWRECK is a tribute to the adventure that came before it all.
