💙 Jayce Update! 💙

Today was a GOOD day at therapy!! 🙌❤️ NO TEARS!! Thank God!! 🙏💙

Now, we did have a couple moments of screaming in pain 😭, but thankfully they figured out pretty quickly that his legs were in a weird position and got that fixed!

But y’all, he did AWESOME today!! 🥹💙

Trish, his therapist, was so surprised at the difference in him today compared to his previous therapy sessions! Before, he was crying and scared pretty much the entire time, and today was such a HUGE improvement!

I really think us practicing with him at home has made such a difference! He knew a little more of what to expect, wasn’t nearly as scared, and I think that helped him tremendously! ❤️

It just makes this momma’s heart so happy to see him making progress! 🥹 We know there are still going to be hard days, and we have a long way to go, but today was a WIN, and we are celebrating every single one of those!! 💙💙

Please keep those prayers coming for our sweet boy! We are so proud of him!! 🙏❤️

Well, we got to come home Wednesday, and now we are headed back to South Carolina today! 💙

We had such a good time being home! We stayed at Mom and Dad’s since a couple of people were sick (Zay and Harley 🙄😂 LOSERS! 🤣). It was SO nice getting to see family and just enjoy being together for a few days! ❤️ We even got to have the grandbabies spend the night with us! 💙💙 And this time, we are taking TWO more back to South Carolina with us! 😂❤️

Mom and Dad also introduced Jayce and Jasper to the Road Runner cartoons, and let’s just say they are HOOKED! 🤣🤣 I think we all know what they’ll be watching on TV every time they go to Mom and Dad’s now! BEEP BEEP! 😂

Now it’s back to reality! Please keep those prayers coming for Jayce! 🙏💙 He has A LOT of therapy ahead of him, starting tomorrow and continuing over the next couple of weeks. His pain has been hit or miss. We’ve been keeping him on Motrin or Tylenol most of the time, along with his Neurontin three times a day. Some days are better than others, but we are just so thankful for how far he has come! ❤️

We know these next couple of weeks are going to be tough on him, especially with all the therapy, so please pray for his pain to stay under control, for him to have the strength and courage to push through, and for us too! This momma and daddy sure could use those prayers! 🥹💙

We loved our little break at home, but now it’s time to get back to work getting those legs stronger! 💪💙

South Carolina, here we come… AGAIN! 😂🚗💙

OUR LORD IS AWESOME!!!!
He has totally had his hand on our amazing boy!!! ❤️🥹
After everything this little boy has been through, all the surgeries, pain, tears, and those awful cast changes, we finally got some WONDERFUL news!!! His legs is PERFECTLY STRAIGHT!!! Both Freaking Legs! 🙌❤️

And even better… NO MORE CAST CHANGES!!! 🎉👏 Praise the Lord!!! I don’t think anyone is happier about that than Jayce (well, his Momma and Daddy are pretty close! 😂).

Now we can focus on therapy and getting him stronger! We still have some hurdles ahead of us, especially getting his pain under control. It breaks my heart to see him hurting after everything he’s already endured.

But goodness gracious, this boy amazes me!!! He has been through more than most people could imagine, and somehow he still finds reasons to smile and make us laugh! ❤️

Please keep those prayers coming, especially for his pain to ease up and for therapy to get a little easier each day! Our Lord is Great!!

Update on Jayce 💙

His pain has been pretty well controlled during the day, except for his left leg—it has really been hurting since they straightened it more on Monday. 😭 Early mornings have been rough, too. Around 4 a.m., the pain gets bad, and it has been taking until about 6–7 a.m. to get him comfortable again.

Today he had PT and OT. OT went really well! He was SO excited that he sat up and used scissors to cut paper for the first time—and cut slime, too! 🥹❤️ Such a big moment for our boy!

PT was really hard and painful today. He is scared and fights against so much of what they need him to do. It’s trying for us and his therapists, but especially for Jayce. Watching him hurt and knowing how scared he is just breaks this momma’s heart. I only took one picture during PT because most of it was tears. 😢 They are also talking about putting a bar between his leg casts to help bring his feet more inward.

On an exciting note, they talked to us about possibly including Jayce in a documentary about how therapists determine whether children with arthrogryposis would benefit from surgery or a different approach to therapy! 💙

Please pray that his pain won’t be too bad tonight after everything he went through today, that he can rest comfortably, and that therapy will get easier and less scary for him. This boy has been through so much, and we just wish we could take the pain away. Keep those prayers coming! 🙏💙

Today was a rough one for our boy. 💔 Jayce started bleeding again on the way to his appointment, and it took about 40 minutes of holding pressure before we finally got it stopped.

The doctor said everything looked great and redressed his incision. Then came his cast changes… and that was horrific. He was already scared, understandably. Once they got his casts off, everything looked great—no infection, and everything is healing well. Praise the Lord for that!💙

They were concerned about his left heel, though. It is red and angry-looking, and they are worried that he may develop a sore there. To help protect it, they cut out the heel area of his cast to relieve pressure and allow them to keep a closer eye on it.

But putting the cast back on was awful. They had to push on his knee and leg and hold them in that position to help get his leg straighter, and he was screaming. I know it hurt like crazy. I can’t imagine going through all that surgery and then having your leg pushed, stretched, and held in place afterward. Hearing him scream in pain like that just breaks this momma’s heart. 😭

This boy deserves all the toys in the world, geez oh mighty! Knowing he has another cast change next week and then another after that makes me want to be sick. Please keep praying for our sweet boy—for his pain, his healing, and his little heart as he faces more of this. Please also pray that his left heel heals and does not develop a sore. And pray for momma and daddy too. We wish so badly we could take the hard parts for him. 🙏💙

We have had a busy but wonderful couple of days!💙 We were so happy to have Noah, Tamera, and the babies, Jasper and Riley, come spend a couple days with us. We got to celebrate Riley’s 7th birthday a little early since we will still be here and miss her actual birthday. 🥹🎂🎉 It was so good having everyone together, and Jayce absolutely loved having them here too!

Of course, because apparently we can’t have a completely uneventful weekend 😂, it also included an ER visit for Momma — I’m okay, getter better slowly— and then an ER visit for Jayce yesterday. One of his surgical sites on his right leg started bleeding and we just could not get it to stop. Scared Momma and daddy! They told us this can be pretty common because the veins can get very sensitive after everything he has had done. They ended up having to put an artificial clot on it a couple of times to finally get the bleeding under control and then put the strips back over the area. 🙏

The GOOD news is his pain has been SO much better controlled! 🙌 So far, so good, and we are very thankful for that because our boy definitely deserves a break from all that pain.

We go back to see his doctor Monday, so we’ll find out what she thinks and what the plan is for his next cast changes and everything going forward.

For now, we’re thankful for a couple days we had of family, birthday fun, lots of laughs, and seeing Jayce feeling more like himself.💙 Please keep our boy in your prayers as we continue through the next few weeks of this journey! 🙏💙

💙 Jayce Update 💙

Jayce is doing GREAT! 🙌 He has had a couple of good nights of rest, and his pain has been under control—knock on wood! 🙏💙

He starts therapy Monday, but we’ve been trying to work with him some here too. Of course, Momma and Daddy aren’t quite as tough on him as his therapists are! 😂

It is still SO odd seeing his legs so straight! 🥹 We just keep looking at them because we aren’t used to seeing them that way, but we are absolutely LOVING it! 💙

He still has several cast changes and lots of therapy ahead of him over the next few weeks, so please continue to keep our boy in your prayers. 🙏 Pray that his pain stays controlled, his legs continue healing like they should, and that therapy goes well.

We are so thankful for how far he has come already and so thankful for every single prayer! 💙🙏

We are BREAKING OUT!!

He is back from his “surgery” 🙌🏻 and we got GREAT news!! His wounds are healing great! ❤️

One leg is almost perfectly straight, and the other one is only off by about 10 degrees!! 🙌🏻 His left heel was starting to get pretty red and was close to developing a pressure sore, so THANK GOD they changed his casts today and caught it when they did!

And the BEST news… WE GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL TODAY!! 🎉🙌🏻😭

We will be heading to our Airbnb and staying there until we come back next week for another cast change and therapy.

After this past week of surgeries, pain, tears, sleepless nights, and worrying, getting him out of this hospital feels SO GOOD! ❤️

Thank you all so much for every single prayer. Please keep them coming as we start this next part of his recovery. Pray we can keep his pain controlled it is really worrying me since we had problems with that here! God has been so good to our boy! Love you guys 🙏🏻💙

Prayers please for our boy! 🙏💙 Jayce hasn’t gone upstairs to holding yet, but he is in A LOT of pain this morning. He didn’t even want the nurse to come back in—guess his opinion of her is about the same as mine 😩—and he wouldn’t tell her how bad he was hurting because he thought if he said he was in pain, he wouldn’t get to go home. 😭

Ughhh… the start of today has not been great. Please pray for Jayce, for his pain to ease, and for everything to go smoothly this morning. We really need the prayers! 🙏💙
