The Pennsylvania Heart and Lung Act applies to certain government employees. Generally, it applies to certain law enforcement officers who have been injured on the job and such injury has caused temporary disability from performing job duties. What if I miss work from a part-time job when Hurt at Work?

In today’s world, many people hold two jobs, their main full-time job and a secondary part-time job. The easy answer is that you may be entitled to wage loss benefits for both the full-time and part-time jobs. Back Injuries are Frequent Work Injuries in Pennsylvania

Back injuries are some of the most frequent work injuries I see in my workers compensation practice. That makes sense considering there on average over 1,000,000 work-related back injuries in the United States every year. Should I report a simple injury to my employer?

You should report a work-related simple injury immediately to your supervisor. Notice is extremely important in Pennsylvania workers compensation. Often times, when an employee suffers what appears to be a relatively simple injury, that does not appear to be significant, they just ‘gut’ though it and handle it on their own. They never report the injury to their employer. Later, the injury fails to resolve and in fact worsens. [ 473 more words ]

May Pennsylvanians are on unemployment due to business closure issued by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf in response tot he COVID-19 pandemic. Pennsylvania injured workers who are furloughed may be eligible for reinstatement of workers compensation total disability benefits. The unemployment rate has skyrocketed to historic numbers throughout Pennsylvania. One important point to note is that although the terms furlough and laid off hold different meanings in employment law, within Pennsylvania workers compensation, there is little difference, with respect to eligibility of workers compensation wage loss benefits.
