Sitting at a desk all day? Your back might be asking for a little extra support!

You don’t need to sit with “perfect posture” all day to be comfortable. Sometimes a simple adjustment, like adding a rolled-up towel behind your lower back, can help make your workspace feel better.

Balance exercises getting a little too easy? That doesn’t always mean you need to do them longer!

Sometimes, a small change can create a whole new challenge. 👀

Whether it’s reducing support, changing your stance, or closing your eyes, our clinicians know how to keep your balance exercises challenging while meeting you where you are.

Shoulder pain shouldn't mean canceling your whole workout 🏋️‍♂️ Before you call it quits, try a modification or two to keep moving safely.

🏋️ Modify the Load (go lighter): Reduce the weight to find a version of the exercise you can control comfortably.

✊ Modify Your Grip: A small hand position change (like switching from overhand to underhand or neutral) can make a huge difference in shoulder joint comfort.

🔄 Modify Your Range: You don't have to go all the way. Try a smaller range of motion instead of pushing into the painful arc.

📐 Modify the Angle: Adjust your arm or body position to find a variation that feels smoother and pain-free.

Persistent pain that doesn't improve with modifications? That's your body's signal to slow down and find out what's going on! Drop a comment or send us a message 💬

Just when you feel like you’re making progress or back on track, an unexpected flare can can feel pretty discouraging.

Don't panic...just go back to the basics:

💨 Breathe
Slow, intentional breathing can help calm your system when things are hurting. Use the technique your physical therapist taught you.

👟 Move Gently
Think of the motions you were taught for “calming things down”. Light, familiar movements, nothing new. Pick the ones that felt best in PT.

⏳ Pace YourselfAvoid the "push-crash" cycle. Break up your tasks and rest before you think you need to.Ask yourself: "What would PT-me do?"

🔌 Reset
Check your posture and ergonomics. One small ergonomic adjustment can make a world of difference.

📊 Reassess
Notice what’s improving, what’s holding steady, and what’s escalating. If symptoms don’t settle, it may be time for a tune-up with your PT.

Normatec compression therapy uses air chambers that gently inflate and deflate in a wave-like pattern, starting at the feet and moving upward.

This pattern is designed to support the body’s circulation and lymphatic systems, which help move fluid, waste products, and swelling out of the legs.

📊 Studies show it can:
- Improve blood flow to working muscles
- Support venous return, helping move metabolic waste out of the legs
- Reduce exercise-related muscle soreness and swelling
- Improve how recovered people feel between training sessions

💡 When is it helpful?
- Normatec is especially useful after intense workouts or long training sessions
- During heavy training weeks, competitions, or tournaments
- When legs feel heavy, stiff, or sore
- When recovery time between sessions is limited
