By now, you should know that wearing a mask properly is an extremely important measure to take to help stop the spread of germs.

Just as important is the correct storage and cleaning of the masks we wear! Consider having more than one mask on hand so that you can easily replace a dirty mask with a clean one. Be sure to remove your mask correctly and wash your hands after touching a used mask.

Find more information on the proper way to store & wash face coverings here: https://bit.ly/37Fjpid.

When Michael Borgioni passed away from Cystic Fibrosis, his parents wanted to honor his memory and his incredible spirit of perseverance. Because Michael's dream was to pursue a career as a Nurse Anesthetist, they couldn't think of a better way to do good in his name than by establishing a special award for St. Luke's School of Nursing students who live their lives just like Mike did.

He is described by all those who knew him as caring, kind, polite, smart, and funny. He proved that being a good person is a lifelong task, regardless of how long that life may be. December 1st would have been Mike's 27th birthday. To celebrate a beautiful life well-lived, please consider a gift to the Michael Borgioni Perseverance Award Fund. Any amount contributed will help recognize nursing students who exemplify the same spirit of perseverance that Michael demonstrated every single day. Make your gift here: https://bit.ly/37PSBfP.

St. Luke’s is sharing heart healthy holiday tips to help keep you on track this holiday season.

Dr. Ray Durkin, chairman of Cardiovascular Medicine at St. Luke's, reminds us that one of the easiest ways to strengthen your immune system is to get an adequate amount of sleep! Infection and fever put extra strain on the heart, so keep your immune system functioning properly.

One of the best tips all St. Luke's Heart and Vascular doctors recommend is to make or keep your heart appointment. Request an appointment with a cardiologist at St. Luke's Heart and Vascular Center here: https://bit.ly/2s1oAoJ.

Washing your hands is one of the most important steps you can take to stop the spread of germs.

Follow these simple steps to make sure you're washing your hands correctly:
- Wet your hands with clean, running water.
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Include the backs of your hands, between your fingers, & under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds.
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

If soap and water are not readily available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol. Learn more tips for staying healthy here: https://bit.ly/3m6nDEY.
