Fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight changes, irregular periods, poor sleep…could your hormones be playing a role? 🤍

They could. But here’s the thing I want you to remember: not every symptom is a hormone problem.

As an Integrative PA, I want to look at the whole picture. Your thyroid, iron levels, sleep, stress, nutrition, menstrual cycle, and stage of life can all provide important clues.

And if you’re in your late 30s or 40s, perimenopause may be part of the conversation—even if you’re still having regular periods.

An integrative approach means asking WHY you’re experiencing symptoms instead of automatically assuming there’s one simple answer.

No guessing. No chasing every new supplement trend. Just thoughtful evaluation and a plan tailored to you.

You deserve to feel heard, understand your options, and be an active participant in your health.

Have you ever been told your labs were “normal,” but you still didn’t feel like yourself? Let’s talk about it in the comments. 👇

Women’s heart health deserves attention long before the first warning sign. ❤️

New guidance from four leading medical organizations is highlighting something important: a woman’s cardiovascular health is shaped throughout her life—not just after menopause.

Your menstrual history, pregnancy complications, changing cholesterol levels and metabolic health can all offer important clues about your long-term risk.

A few things I want women to remember:
• Heart health conversations should start early.
• Pregnancy complications can have implications long after delivery.
• Perimenopause is an important time to reassess cardiovascular risk.
• Prevention starts with understanding YOUR health history.

This isn’t about creating more fear around our health. It’s about having better conversations, asking better questions and recognizing opportunities for prevention before disease develops.

You deserve care that looks at the whole picture.

Save this post and share it with a woman who needs to hear it. 💌

Perimenopause is NOT something you just have to push through. 🤍

There’s a lot of misinformation out there about what’s “normal” during this season of life. From irregular periods and brain fog to sleep changes, mood shifts, and fatigue, your symptoms deserve to be understood—not dismissed.

Let’s bust a few common perimenopause myths and start having better conversations about your hormones, your health, and your options.

You deserve to feel like yourself again. ✨

🚨 Your mammogram could be missing a piece of YOUR breast cancer risk story. Have you checked this number? 👀

Your Tyrer-Cuzick score estimates your lifetime breast cancer risk based on factors like family history and personal risk factors. If your calculated risk is 20% or higher, you may qualify for additional screening, such as a breast MRI, depending on your individual circumstances and screening guidelines.

✨ Know your numbers.
✨ Ask questions.
✨ Advocate for personalized screening.

At your next mammogram, ask about your lifetime risk score and talk with your healthcare provider about whether additional screening may be right for you. You can also check with your insurance provider about coverage.

Because breast cancer screening shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. 🤍

Breast cancer risk + hormone therapy = more nuanced than one scary statistic. 🤍

Inspired by Dr. Amy B Killen this is your reminder to look at the whole picture when it comes to hormone health.

✨ What matters?
• The type of hormone therapy
• Dose and duration of use
• Alcohol consumption
• Metabolic health and body composition
• Breast density and genetics
• Age and personal medical history

For context, the WHI trial found approximately 8 additional breast cancer cases per 10,000 women per year among women taking the specific combination of estrogen + medroxyprogesterone studied, compared with placebo.

But that finding doesn’t apply equally to every hormone formulation or every woman.

Hormone therapy isn’t risk-free. And no single statistic tells the whole story.

We deserve individualized care, evidence-based information, and conversations rooted in facts—not fear.

Save this for your next conversation with your provider.
