❤️🐴 Where My Soul Feels at Home 🌾
I don't know if I can truly explain what happens to me when I walk into the barn.
The world just gets quieter.
The stress, the worries, the endless to-do lists, and the weight of everything I carry seem to fade away.
I hear the horses munching their hay, the occasional snort, the sound of hooves moving across the ground. I smell the hay, the leather, and that familiar barn smell that some people might wrinkle their noses at, but to me smells like heaven.
And suddenly, I can breathe.
I don't have to be a nurse.
I don't have to be a wife, a mom, or a grandma.
I just get to be ME.
Suebird and Willow don't care what kind of day I've had. They don't care if my hair is a mess, if I'm exhausted, or if I haven't accomplished a single thing on my to-do list.
They just accept me exactly as I am.
Some days I talk to them. Some days I laugh at their antics. And some days I just stand beside them in complete silence.
And somehow, that's enough.
I've spent most of my adult life taking care of others. But somewhere along the way, I discovered that these two horses have a way of taking care of me, too.
The barn isn't just where I keep my horses. It's where I find my peace, where I recharge, and where I remember who I am.
Not everyone will understand it.
But those who do? They know.
Some people go to the beach. Some go to the mountains. Me? I go to the barn. ❤️🐴
