I know my pregnant Type A queens have it all planned out—spreadsheets, birth plans, hospital bags packed with military precision. And yet, pregnancy has a way of reminding us that some things can’t be scheduled, optimized, or managed (OUCH).

Pregnancy asks us to hold so much—strength and surrender, preparation and trust, control and release.

Let's practice a different kind of preparation.

🌿 Inhale deeply through your nose for 4 seconds.
🌿 Hold that breath for 7 seconds—let yourself feel steady in the pause.
🌿 Exhale slowly through pursed lips for 8 seconds—let go of what you don’t need to carry.

Now, read each affirmation, for 2 - 3 cycles of the breathing outlined above. Let them settle in. Let them remind you that being prepared isn’t about holding everything—it’s about knowing what to hold and what to release.

Which one hit home for you today? Drop a ✨ if you’re breathing with me.

Through Nurture & Flow and my non-profit, Birth Ruckus, we’re offering birth and community support at no cost to those impacted by the LA fires:

📚 Weekly Childbirth Education + Doula Support
We’re helping expectant families feel prepared and confident for labor and delivery. These sessions cover pain management techniques, key resources for navigating birth in LA, and everything needed to approach childbirth with calm and clarity. Every Wednesday at 6pm.

🌟 Essentials Package
Each package is filled with postpartum supplies, breastfeeding essentials if needed, and items for new babies to help families get through the critical weeks after birth.

This is deeply personal for me. I just gave birth to my son Zimri in November, and I know firsthand how uncertain and overwhelming this moment can feel—even without a crisis. I’m asking for your help to make sure these families feel the love, care, and support that defines this city. I'm asking families to take full advantage - it's worth it for you and your baby. I've been doing this work for 8 years - the families I've supported can attest to how much we give a damn.

In love and solidarity,
- Drea

Hello beautiful people! Zimri came peacefully into the world November 7th 2024. (My water broke at 8pm during the election 😂😂)

The labor was everything we could have imagined and then some (granted I had a moment where I couldn't get up from the ground lol). It took me and Bryce 3 days to name him at our leisure. We took 40 days and 40 nights to get to know him before we ventured outside of our home.

While I am still on the mend and getting back to a life to birth this beautiful human I am reminded to take my time. I am so grateful for my family, my partner, and the knowledge that led to this moment. Even at 37, high risk wasn't even a conversation, defying gravity.

Don't worry I will be sharing my birth experience but I wanted to let you all know that he arrived safely. ❤️

Lol, 👋🏾 hello 🤗

I've been on hiatus since last September which was only meant to be until April of this year. Our baby had different plans to extend it even longer.

We are in the home stretch and baby can come anytime between now and next month. We're just on baby's time. If you've birthed with me you've heard me say that a million times and I'm no different. I'll be taking my own advice and actually resting, finding comfort, and eating good waiting until it's time to get to work and not a moment sooner. 💓

PS having a baby at 20 versus 37 is an entirely different body experience, lol. 🤣🤣 Keep my pelvic floor and hips uplifted in thoughts and prayers.
