Thirty years ago, Silverado was founded on a belief that people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias deserve a life of purpose, dignity, and joy.
Today our home office gathered for our 30th Anniversary Luncheon to celebrate that belief and the people who have carried it forward every single day.
The afternoon held a very special moment.
In recognition of our founder Loren B. Shook and his exemplary leadership, the Honorable Young Kim, Member of Congress for California’s 40th District, requested that an American flag be flown over the United States Capitol. The accompanying certificate honors Loren’s tireless commitment to enriching lives and uplifting those living with dementia, and congratulates Silverado on three decades of service to our community.
Loren, thank you. Your vision changed what memory care could be, and it continues to guide every community, every associate, and every resident we serve.
To our associates, residents, families, and partners who have been part of this journey: this milestone belongs to you. We are grateful for the last 30 years and even more excited for what comes next.
Love is greater than fear. Here’s to the next 30.
