I jumped on the trend and used chatgpt to tell me where I didn't belong. Where I wouldn't feel comfortable? And once I got the picture back, it sure to spark something in me!
I sat in corporate boardrooms. I sat in classrooms. Iโve sat at tables with millionaires and people the world would call โsuccessful.โ
And I can tell you this: I have never felt more successful, more grounded, or more like myself than I do today.
For the last 15 years, Iโve had the privilege of being my own boss and building a life around work that actually means something to me. Those years gave me my foundation. They taught me who I was when there wasnโt a corporate title, a job description, or someone elseโs definition of success attached to my name.
And now, on this next chapter of my journey, I feel myself evolving all over again. Learning more. Questioning more. Elevating. Becoming even more intentional about where my energy goes and who receives it.
Because hereโs something I learned a long time ago:
Not every table youโre invited to is a table youโre meant to stay at.
I understand that working for yourself isnโt possibleโor even desirableโfor everyone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with working for someone else. Good companies need good people, and good leaders understand that the people doing the work are the heartbeat of everything they build.
My problem has never been with working.
My problem is with corporations that forget there are human beings behind the numbers.
People with children. Parents. Marriages. Illnesses. Dreams. Exhaustion. Birthdays. Funerals. Lives happening outside those office walls.
When the people keeping a company alive are treated as replaceable numbers instead of human beings, something has gone terribly wrong.
Maybe thatโs why I feel so strongly about the people who trust me with their own journeys. I never want someone sitting across from me to feel like an appointment on a calendar, a dollar amount, or the next person in line.
You are a human being. I am a human being. And if you trust me with a piece of your life, Iโm going to meet you there as one.
I want to pour my energy into my clients. I want to give people the time, compassion, honesty, wisdom, and genuine pieces of myself that so many systems have forgotten how to give.
Because success, to me, isnโt how many people work underneath you.
Itโs how many people are better because you walked beside them.
So be a good human. Keep your word. Lead with faith. Be loyal. Be trustworthy when nobody is watching. Protect the people who trust you. Help others rise without needing to stand on them to get higher.
And never underestimate the โlittle people.โ
Because corporations may have the buildings, the titles, and the moneyโbut people have always had the power. And when enough ordinary people remember their worth, support one another, and stop believing they are insignificant, there is nothing little about them anymore.
Maybe we were never supposed to spend our entire lives pouring our creativity, time, energy, and brilliance into making corporations bigger while making ourselves smaller.
Maybe some of that energy was always meant for us.
For our families.
For our dreams.
For our purpose.
And for the people who genuinely entrust us with a piece of themselves.
I spent years learning how to sit at other peopleโs tables.
Then I realized I was supposed to build my own.
And these days, Iโm far more interested in who I can make room for than who thinks I belong there. ๐โจ๐ค
