Have you ever looked closely at a handmade quilt?
Every piece is different.
One piece came from a Sunday dress, another from a work shirt. Some are bright and some have faded with time. On its own, each one is just a piece of scrap material.
But one thread runs through all of them and that thread turns the scraps into something warm and beautiful.
I know midlife can make you feel like the seams are pulling apart.
Friendships drift. The kids need you less or they make choices that keep you up at night praying. Your marriage looks different than you pictured. Some of you are caring for aging parents and haven’t had time for a friend in months. Some of you sit in a full room and still feel unseen.
And if we’re honest, between the hormones, the poor sleep and carrying everyone else’s needs, many of us snap more than we used to. Then we pull back and then we wonder why we feel so alone.
If that’s you today: your longing for connection is not being selfish. It’s God stirring your heart.
At next week’s Midlife Wisdom Room gathering, we’re going to talk about that thread. I’ve called the topic: Oneness. Together we’ll explore:
💜 Why letting go of being right can bring you more peace than winning ever has
💜 How to see the good in the people who are hardest to love
💜 Why love and healthy boundaries aren’t opposites (Jesus modeled both)
💜 How to let go of the expectations that have quietly hardened your heart and stand for the life God is calling you to.
Bring a friend, bring your story and bring your heart. There will be time to share, time to reflect quietly and a little challenge to take home with you.

You are not alone in this journey and you are not just a piece of scrap! You’re part of something beautiful. 🤍
Tell me one word for how your heart is feeling about your relationships right now. I’m praying for every woman who reads this!
