Our mission is to build a multigenerational network of restorative justice practitioners who strengthen community ties, promote healing, and offer non-punitive approaches to harm repair in Houston and beyond. Through collaboration between stakeholders in schools and prisons – with a particular focus on including the voices of students and parents from the community – RJCH will plan conferences, lobby for the implementation of restorative justice in the juvenile justice and education system in the greater Houston area, and conduct circle trainings for current and preservice teachers, administrators, students, and parents interested in bringing a new model of justice to their school or institution.

As always, our mother/caregiver circle was absolutely beautiful this weekend. We want to give a huge thanks to 👆🏾😎 👉🏾 BE THE CHANGE for leading the circle and to CoolxDad for offering their space for us to host it there.

It never ceases to amaze us how refueled we all feel after this circle. For this one we focused on “Reimagining Motherhood/Caregiving”. We were asked what was missing from those roles. We reflected & shared from our hearts, laughed, were strengthened & validated…and that is truly healing.

Thank you to all the wonderful souls who made it to our circle ♥️. And as ALWAYS thank you to Selena Rose for the gorgeous pictures!!

A nonprofit is only as successful as it’s board is active & engaged. We are privileged to have an amazing board that is all those things & more. We are so grateful 🙏🏼

🎲💃 What if play was one of the most powerful tools we had for building trust, healing, and connection?

Some of our deepest connections happen when we step outside our usual roles, let our guard down, move our bodies, laugh together, and experience something new alongside others. 💛

If you’ve been to one of our circles you know & have experienced the power of games & movement! We owe a lot of that knowledge to Creative Change Collaborative | Restorative Justice Training and their expertise in this area & we are so excited they are flying in to teach this workshop in person!!

Games and movement aren’t just ways to break the ice or fill time. When used intentionally, they can help us build trust, create a sense of belonging, make space for joy, and strengthen the relationships that allow deeper learning and healing to happen.

Whether you facilitate restorative justice circles, teach in a classroom, work with youth, lead community groups, or simply bring people together, knowing how to harness the power of play can transform the way people connect with one another.

✨ Learn practical, creative tools you can bring into your own spaces to:
🌀 Build trust and strengthen relationships

💛 Create opportunities for healing, belonging, and connection

🎭 Help people feel more comfortable participating and expressing themselves

🤝 Deepen group bonding beyond conversation alone

🌱 Make learning more engaging, embodied, and memorable

Our 30-hour Circle Facilitation Apprenticeship is an opportunity to build your skills in facilitating conversations about conflict, identity, power, and equity. Across seven sessions, you’ll practice somatic self-regulation, develop circle facilitation skills, and receive ongoing coaching as you begin bringing restorative practices into your communities.

💛 This apprenticeship is exclusively for people already connected to Restorative Houston — whether you regularly attend our circles, have volunteered or supported our work, or are interested in volunteering and becoming more involved in our community.

We’re excited to invest in the people who are helping grow this work with us and build a network of community peacemakers across Houston.

🌀 Beyond the Ballot: Stepping Into Our Power 🌀

The election is coming, but no matter how it turns out, our power doesn’t begin or end at the ballot box.

Whether you’re celebrating the results, grieving them, feeling somewhere in between, or simply wondering “Okay…what now?” — this Circle is for you.

Join us for an intergenerational community Circle where we’ll create space to reconnect with our voices, quiet the inner critic, and remember that our power lives far beyond the ballot box. Together, we’ll explore how to stay grounded, engaged, and connected to ourselves and our communities without giving in to despair, apathy, or complacency.

Because what happens next is still ours to shape. 💙
