Just finished the AI Summit with Alicia Lyttle, and I am truly excited about what is ahead.

AI is changing the way we think about healthcare administration. From revenue cycle operations and credentialing to workflow improvement, data analysis, decision support, and patient access, the possibilities continue to grow.

What excites me most is not just the technology itself. It is how we can use AI strategically to support healthcare professionals, improve processes, and create more efficient systems without losing the human judgment that healthcare still requires.

I am currently studying the impact of AI in healthcare administration, and the more I learn, the more I see how important it will be for healthcare leaders to understand both the opportunities and the responsibility that come with using AI.

This is definitely an area I plan to keep exploring, teaching, and bringing into the healthcare administration conversation.

The future of healthcare administration is changing, and I am excited to be learning right in the middle of it. πŸ’—πŸ’š

POV: You bought the dog a whole bed and somehow he still sleeps like he pays the mortgage. πŸ˜‚πŸΎπŸ’™

Blanket pulled up. Curled into the perfect little cinnamon roll. Absolutely unavailable for responsibilities. πŸ˜‚

Anybody else have a dog who takes bedtime this seriously? πŸ‘€

Don’t let all that cabbage fool you πŸ‘€πŸ˜‚

There are some seasoned turkey wings hiding underneath, soaking up all that flavor! πŸ¦ƒπŸ₯¬πŸ”₯

This is the kind of dinner where you lift the lid and already know somebody put their foot in it. πŸ˜‹

Now be honest…are you eating the cabbage first or going straight for the turkey wings? πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ˜‚

I had a recent conversation with someone about communication and conflict, and it reminded me of something important. πŸ’¬βœ¨

Being quiet does not mean someone is weak or afraid to address an issue. Some people simply take time to process, observe, and choose the right response. 🧠🌿

That is where emotional intelligence comes in. You can set boundaries, address conflict, and communicate clearly without raising your voice or reacting immediately. πŸ™ŒπŸ½

Sometimes the strongest response is a calm one. πŸ’—

Your next level will require new boundaries.

You cannot keep explaining your vision to people who have already decided not to understand it. Some people will question your growth simply because they were more comfortable with the version of you that stayed small.

Keep growing. Keep building. Keep moving.

Everybody does not need to understand the assignment. It was given to YOU. πŸ’—

What are you no longer explaining in this season?

A. Under 5%
B. 5% to 7%
C. 8% to 10%
D. Over 10%

No Googling πŸ‘€

Do you know your organization’s current denial rate?

Revenue cycle professionals, medical billers, and coders, let’s test your knowledge. πŸ‘€

What denial rate should a high performing practice aim for?

Drop A, B, C, or D in the comments. No Googling first! πŸ˜‚

Knowing your denial rate is one thing. Understanding why claims are being denied and what you are doing to prevent repeat denials is where the real revenue cycle work begins.

πŸ˜‚ This one made me laugh because we have all been there.

Microsoft Authenticator at 7:00 AM:

β€œApprove sign in request.”

Me: Who else would be trying this hard to log in and WORK? πŸ˜‚

As annoying as multifactor authentication can feel, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. One compromised password can expose email, financial information, patient data, business systems, and confidential records.

So yes, I may complain every time that notification pops up, but I still appreciate the extra layer of protection.

Cybersecurity is inconvenient until you need it.

Anybody else have a love hate relationship with Microsoft Authenticator? πŸ˜‚

National Online Learning Day has me reflecting on where my journey in higher education began.

My first collegiate teaching opportunity was at Houston Community College, and that opportunity changed so much for me. Teaching has never been just about delivering content. It is about helping students see what is possible, building their confidence, challenging them to grow, and reminding them that they belong in the rooms they are working so hard to enter.

One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is watching that growth happen. I have former students who are now doing well in their careers, advancing professionally, and leading in their industries. Seeing their success reminds me why this work continues to mean so much to me.

After 15 years of teaching, I still get excited about the opportunity to inspire a student, encourage someone who is doubting themselves, or help someone connect what they are learning in the classroom to the career they want.

A special thank you to Jackie Young Franklin and Catina L. Flagg MBA,MS-HIM, RHIA, CPC, CPB, CPMA, CPC-I, LSSGB for believing in me. Sometimes one person opening a door can impact more lives than they will ever know.

Teaching changes lives, and I am grateful that it continues to change mine too.

β€œIf you didn’t build me, you can’t break me.”

There are seasons in your career and life when rejection, disappointment, closed doors, or the opinions of others can make you question your direction.

But every difficult season does not mean you are being destroyed. Sometimes you are being developed.

The setbacks taught you.
The closed doors redirected you.
The challenges strengthened you.
The uncomfortable seasons prepared you for what comes next.

Never allow one employer, one leader, one rejection, or one difficult chapter to convince you that your purpose has ended.

What God has placed inside of you is bigger than one moment.

Keep building. Keep learning. Keep moving forward.

Your destiny is not determined by who overlooked you.
