More frequent testosterone administrations generally mean smaller peaks, smaller troughs, and more stable levels over time.

Every two weeks may work for some patients, but I generally recommend at least once weekly, and often twice weekly. Larger, less frequent doses can produce much greater fluctuations and may contribute to side effects in some patients.

For most patients using physiologic replacement doses, twice weekly is plenty. There’s usually no need to overcomplicate it.

If your goal is building muscle, stop trying to make every exercise do five things at once.

More instability doesn’t automatically mean more effective. Get stable, focus on the target muscle, and train it hard.

Stop getting so cute with it. 😂

There’s no magic “optimal” testosterone number.

The goal is symptom resolution with minimal side effects, and that level varies from person to person.

If your testosterone is already adequate but you still don’t feel great, more testosterone isn’t always the answer.

Energy, mood, and libido have a lot of dials. Don’t keep cranking just one.

More isn’t always better.

Acne is a relatively common side effect of testosterone therapy because testosterone can increase oil production in the skin.

If it becomes an issue, reducing the dose can often help. In some patients, switching to smaller, more frequent injections may help as well.

I also commonly recommend a benzoyl peroxide face or body wash as a simple first-line option.

Pushing to (or close to) failure is really hard. There should be signs. And they shouldn’t be pretty. 🥴

A food can be nutritious and still not be the best choice for your current goal.

Losing, maintaining, and gaining weight all require different approaches to calorie density and food selection, but the foundation of a healthy diet doesn’t have to change.

“Healthy” doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Consider the context and match your food choices to your goal.

3 months into the offseason and making solid progress. Strength is way up, and I’ve put on a decent amount of muscle.

However, I’m approaching the upper limit of where I wanted my body fat to get and starting to feel a little beat up, so next up is a short 6-week mini cut before getting back to work building toward my 2nd show in spring 2027.

The challenge: bringing a significantly improved physique while still making the same 177-lb Classic Physique weight cap. 🫡
