❤️This week I send so much love to our Midwives near and far, as we recognize their work, effort, passion and drive to provide exceptional, loving, thoughtful and expert care for the families they guide through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

A huge shoutout to our Houstonian midwives who I personally think are among the best in the country-but I am a wee bit biased ;-).
Esp Heart Of Houston where I visited over the weekend to pick up a precious placenta. Birth center pickups are my fav…the level of calm and serenity upon arrival is always a joy to experience.

To all our midwives, thank you for all you do.

🥰Lots of geeking out in the placenta kitchen this week…but especially over this gorgeous placenta. This was particularity special because it was returning family which is always an honour. But also because this placenta had 3 really cool elements to it.

1️⃣ It had a circummarginate insertion.
2️⃣Theres was a gorgeous long cord.
3️⃣There was a yolk sac still attached.

So what’s a circummarginate insertion???
This is where the membrane insertion is inside the placental disc and not on the edge. This is particularly cool because it leaves the chorionic plate a tad smaller than the basal plate…meaning the side wee baby interacts with is smaller than what is attached to the uterus. This is simply a variation of normal and a reason for nerds like me to geek out at how cool us birthers actually are!!

A long cord isn’t unusual but it is gorgeous to see.

And those who follow my page know how much I love a yolk sac discovery and how I tend to those beauties! (I super carefully, almost surgically, remove them and attach them to the cord keepsake for the family to keep).

Massive love and credit to Kirrah Placenta Wisdom for such a fabulous illustration of placenta variations. This particular one I studied like a maniac for my own placenta Certification a decade or so ago.

💖It’s been a lovely end to a busy week in the placenta kitchen!

Lots of gorgeous new families from all the way from Montgomery to Conroe to Clear Lake to Pearland and a couple more in between have received their placenta products and are on the road to a healthier and happier postpartum healing.

And a whole new group of expectant parents will be receiving their placenta transportation kits very soon too-I’m beyond thankful for the opportunity to work with so many amazing families throughout the Houston area.

A wee highlight is being booked by a 5th time repeat client. I’m beyond giddy with excitement to see this fabulous family soon, the joy they bring me…pure love!

☘️🇮🇪6 Weeks in Ireland!☘️🇮🇪

Bringing my kids home summer after summer has been the biggest gift ever! They are as Irish as they are American, they have friends here and absolutely adore their Irish aunties and uncles.

I’m so lucky to have family and friends on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, something that the previous generation to me rarely got to enjoy, back then, when you left home for American shores, you left for good. Thankfully that’s not the case for me. I go home every year to the same friends in my village I’ve had since I was 8 years old and to the loveliest family a girl could ask for.

These pics are just a wee snippet of the summer-the food we devoured could take up a whole new post. 😂

🔸I’m so thrilled to be releasing the dates for the Fall and Winter. These classes are so much more than your run of the mill standard “how to get the kid out of you” class. What you learn in HypnoBirthing, will not only stand to you in birth but will be there to pull on through the years of parenting that lay ahead.

🔸Come join us for the next series of HypnoBirthing, you’ll be so glad you did, we cover so much important information to help the birthing family birth in an educated and empowered manner.

🔸Online classes via Zoom will take place from the comfort of your own home weekly. All class times are CST. ⁣ (The online class is perfect if you’re in a remote area and can’t find an educator near you) Each week we will begin at 6pm and run until roughly 8:30PM.

We’ll explore:

✨ How to tell the difference between perinatal anxiety and OCD
