I was stuck in the airport yesterday from 1245- 6pm when we started boarding. Then we sat on the plane for almost 2 hours FREEZING, waiting for ATC to clear us.
Taxied away, only to turn around because we needed more fuel for the pilot to accept the reroute or they wouldn't let us leave. Then we had to wait for the Fueler to come back because he'd left for the evening🤣
People were acting like alley bats! At the gate demanding hotels, arguing about the weather and whether the delays were really weather related👀😑 and continued to carry on with the shenanigans when we got on the plane. One young lady had a full on, sobbing melt down. Her traveling companion had to help her calm down.
Whew! Sometimes we dont know what someone else is going thru.
Our 4pm landing turned into landing after 11pm. I didn't care, we made it safe! That was all that matter!
I really have to say a huge thank you to United Airlines!!!
From the Gate Agents to the Flight Attendant to the Pilots! They were graceful, compassionate and patient. The pilot even help me get my bags on the plane. And when I was the last to get off was still helping me.
They didn't know I was in excruciating pain (sciatic nerve and piriformis syndrome) from being in the airport all day and then sitting in the freezing airplane. They're kind demeanor and actions made a crazy situation easier to navigate.
I was literally trying to get to Chicago for a training (made it)! And with only 3 hour sleep 😴 😩, I'm in the parking lot getting ready to go in and rock this 2nd in a series of 4 trainings.
This morning this here green tea and jammin in this jeep is getting me revved up and ready to go!!
