Cinder Sauna Cinder Sauna was built on the belief that heat, entered willingly and practiced regularly, refines rather than consumes.

For centuries, people have used sauna not for luxury, but for resilience — to steady the body, quiet the mind, and build consistency t

Football in the morning, questionable life choices at night! 😂🌙 With the early game, Cinder Sauna is moving our Saturday plunge to 7 PM at our regular spot by John Hole’s Bridge. We’re taking on cold water AND the dark, because apparently one reason to reconsider wasn’t enough. Bring a friend, a towel, a light, and that brave voice you use before your toes touch the water. We’ll do hard things, make some ridiculous noises, and warm up together in the sauna. The dark adds the drama! 🔥🥶

Cold is the catalyst. Heat is the connection. Community is the reward.

📚❄️ The Cinder Tribe is starting a book club!

A few members of our tribe are putting together our first Cinder Sauna book club, and our inaugural book will be “Winter Swimming” by Susanna Søberg! Whether you’re already a cold-water enthusiast or just curious about what brings people back to the river, this will be a fun chance to learn and connect.

We’ll meet on December 1st at the Dog Pound—Tyler’s warehouse—to talk through the book, share what we learned, and enjoy some good company. All are welcome, so grab a copy, bring a friend, and come be part of the conversation!

There’s something satisfying about trying something you weren’t sure you could do. Sometimes that’s speaking in public. Sometimes it’s meeting new people. Sometimes it’s standing beside the Snake River negotiating with your own feet. 😂 Cold plunging can be a personal confidence moment, but you choose what participation looks like. A short dip, a change of mind, or simply coming to meet the group—we’re glad you showed up. Your comfort level deserves respect. Your entrance face may receive friendly commentary. ❄️

A book about getting into cold water on purpose? Apparently our hobbies now require an explanation. 😂 Dr. Susanna Søberg’s Winter Swimming explores cold-water traditions, the science behind cold exposure, and its possible connections to well-being. It’s a great conversation starter for anyone wondering why people keep showing up at the river with towels and smiles. Our favorite part of the experience is discovering something new alongside good people. Curious about cold plunging? Bring your questions. There’s plenty to talk about in the sauna. ❄️🔥

Tomorrow morning’s forecast: a little hesitation, some questionable facial expressions, and a whole lot of good company. 😂 Join Cinder Sauna Saturday, October 24, at 9 a.m. at John Hole Forebay / Bridge Park for cold plunging and sauna time! Come alone, bring a friend, or bring the friend who keeps saying, “I’ll try it someday.” First-timers welcome, cheering encouraged, and participation is always your choice. Bring a towel, water, and warm, dry clothes. We’ll bring the sauna. The river has declined our request to turn up the temperature. 🔥❄️

One reason people love cold plunging? It gets your attention. Quickly. 😂 Your grocery list and unread emails suddenly have some competition from the present moment. A brief, carefully approached dip can become a chance to put distractions aside and notice what’s happening right now. At Cinder, there’s no stopwatch contest and no award for staying in longest. Enter gradually, keep breathing normally, and get out when you need to. The best story afterward is usually the face you made getting in. ❄️

Your couch has had enough quality time with you. 😂 Come hang out with the Cinder Tribe this Saturday, October 24, at 9 a.m. at John Hole Forebay / Bridge Park! We’re bringing the Cinder Sauna, the Snake River is handling the cold plunge, and you’re invited to bring your wonderful, slightly nervous self. Come alone or bring a friend—and leave knowing a few more. First-timers are welcome, and nobody needs to prove anything to the river. Bring a towel, water, dry layers, and your sense of humor. Cold water, warm sauna, good people. That’s a pretty great Saturday. 🔥❄️

Who’s ready to get back in the river? 🥶 Join us Saturday, October 17th at 9 AM at John’s Hole Forebay in Idaho Falls for a Cinder Sauna cold plunge! The river should be a brisk 56 degrees, give or take. We like it between 40 and 50, so we’re getting close to our sweet spot! Three reasons to join us: 1️⃣ Practice doing something hard and stepping outside your comfort zone. 2️⃣ Put the phone down and give yourself a moment to be fully present. 3️⃣ Connect with good people—nothing breaks the ice like getting into cold water together! 😂 Come for the challenge, stay for the community, and go at your own pace. 🔥 The sauna will be there to warm up!

There’s something pretty great about standing beside someone you just met and both saying, “We’re really doing this?” 😂❄️ Three reasons to try something challenging together: 1️⃣ Encouragement can make that first step feel more manageable. 2️⃣ Trying something new gives you a chance to build confidence. 3️⃣ A shared challenge gives strangers something to laugh about and connect over. This is about finding your own challenge, at your own pace—there’s no prize for staying in the longest. Come meet the Cinder Tribe and watch for our next event!
