This week, Governor Reynolds announced that high school baseball and softball can proceed this summer. The IHSAA, IGHSAU, and the Department of Education have come out with guidelines to return to sport, with practices beginning on June 1 and competition beginning on June 15.

The recommendations can be found here.
https://www.iahsaa.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Iowa-DE-Guidance-Summer-Sports-5.20.20.pdf

The NATA also has a resource page specific to the COVID-19 response, other resources can be found at the link below

Each district will be making decisions on what participation will look like. Athletic trainers at each school will likely be looked to for solutions. If you are in the high school setting, take this opportunity to work with the Activities Director to ensure these guidelines are followed. If you need any additional assistance, please feel free to reach out.
