For the last day of Homecoming week, we have an update from recent graduate, Autumn!

“Since graduating in May of this year, I accepted an Americorps position in Chicago and moved here in September! I am working as a programs specialist with the Greater Chicago Food Depository which is an organization that oversees 750+ food pantries, soup kitchens, afterschool programs and other food security entities. I work in nutrition access programming to help ensure people across Cook County have access to nutritious food. I am just getting started but I am excited to learn more about the area of food security because it combines my passions of public health, social services and environmental issues.”

This past spring semester, we had our first full graduating class from the CPH undergrad program. As a part of Homecoming week, we thought we’d highlight a couple of them!

First up is Emily. Emily graduated with her Bachelor of Arts, and is currently in her second year of the MPH in policy sub track as a part of the U2G accelerated degree program.

“I decided to study the policy subtrack after experiencing local policymaking through an internship as well as projects in classes, such as Policy and Advocacy. While I am still determining what my career path will look like post-grad school, I am excited to stay in Iowa and help grow the awareness for public health initiatives!”
