Our team members volunteered at Dibble Elementary School over the past several weeks for the school's Mileage Club - an initiative to get students moving while they are at recess. Team member Teshna Thomas had the pleasure of recognizing the top 2 students who walked 18.6 miles. They received special tokens from Henry Ford Jackson Hospital and will enjoy a lunch with the principal!

After 2 years of receiving hospice care at home, Beth Powell made a decision rooted in both courage and love — she chose to move into the Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson. A fall had left her feeling unsafe at home, and after an open-hearted conversation with her sister, they both agreed it was time for a new chapter in her care journey.

“It wasn’t a sad decision,” Beth reflects. “I gave away my belongings to those in need, and I was happy to know my things were going to help others.”

The Clara Ford Awards for Nursing Excellence honor Henry Ford Health nurses who go above and beyond for their patients, our communities and our organization. Now in its 14th year, this tradition continues to recognize the outstanding dedication and compassion of our nurses.

Two of the recipients awarded this year are from Henry Ford Jackson Hospital!

🌟 Affordable, Nursing Leader Award - Courtney McIntosh, our nursing administrator, was honored for her exceptional leadership in Behavioral Health, leading improvements in patient care, staff retention, safety and team culture across multiple programs.

🌟 Safest Care and Best Outcomes Award - Jessica Schmidt, our clinical nurse specialist, was recognized for leading the creation of the Behavioral Emergency Response Team at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, improving safety for patients and staff during behavioral emergencies. Her work is now widely recognized.

🚧 I-94 Business Loop water main project begins May 12 🚧

To ensure the integrity of the I-94 Business Loop, the Michigan Department of Transportation and the City of Jackson will replace the water main on Michigan Avenue/Glick Highway between Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Waterloo Avenue, and on M-106 (Cooper Street) between I-94 BL and Pearl Street in Jackson. This water main work is part of the Cooper Street bridge replacement project already underway.

This project will require closing I-94 BL (Michigan Avenue/Glick Highway) from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to Waterloo Avenue to install a new water main. Local traffic will be maintained on I-94 BL (Michigan Avenue) between Waterloo Avenue and M-106.
