Are we moving through life too fast?
Do you ever wish you could just slow down a little? Take your time and move from one moment to the next, not in a frenzied attempt at multitasking and checking off to-dos, but with awareness and intention at a pace that feels manageable.
With the world at our fingertips we are more easily distracted from the here and now; from the present moment. We keep our calendars jammed packed and then complain about not having enough time.
Life isnât meant to feel rushed; itâs meant to be experienced. To be savored. To be inspired by and find joy in.
At one point in my life I valued a busy schedule. I worked a lot, went to college part-time, lived on my own with two large dogs, went to the gym regularly, and tried to have a social life.
I still value all the same things, but in a different, less rigid way.
I schedule less and enjoy more. I donât work as much - but my work ethic is still strong.
I no longer attend college, but I continue to learn and apply myself. Seeking out new knowledge and lessons.
I still workout regularly, but I change it up and listen to my body more. I rest and recover when I need to.
My social circle is smaller and more intimate; and I frequently enjoy my own company.
Learning how to live a slower life didnât happen overnight. I questioned nearly every aspect of my life; of the things I valued and why.
I had to decide to do things differently. I had to shift my perspective and let go of beliefs that no longer served me and I had to practice believing new ones.
I still have moments of hurriedness, but I recognize when I am moving too fast - so I take a deep breath and slow down.
â¨I help busy women learn the art of slowing down and avoiding burnout. If you would like to live a slower life with less stress Iâd love to connect.
