Hey guys with the recent events going on, a lot of my clients have been able to continue working out through virtual training! The people I work with have been using the training programs I created and been able to workout at home, but virtual training allows me to be there for an extra push and to hold you accountable. Since most of the gyms are closed, this has been a great way to stay active using little or no equipment. If you are interested in pushing it to the next level and begin training, send me a message or leave a comment and I’ll reach out to you to set up a free assessment and workout!

Support systems 🔥
This isn’t a take me back post, but while it’s raining here in Georgia I remembered the work my wife and I put in this year before going to the beach.
When it comes to fitness, we are all in it together- a little support goes a long way! Surprisingly, almost everyone I speak with struggled in the beginning of their fitness journeys due to the doubt from family members, coworkers, and friends.
Lift that person up around you that’s struggling to make the leap, compliment someone you know who is just starting and tell them you already see the change, or take an extra minute to talk to the new person at the gym. We are in it together and all just want to be our best selves!

The power of consistency- 2019 vs. 2017🔽
One of the biggest mistakes you can make is coasting through your workouts. Being a creature of habit in your fitness journey is both a gift and a curse. You need to find the balance between getting in a routine and getting too comfortable with your workouts.
Training style differences: I lifted a lot heavier in 2017 and utilized hill sprints for cardio. In 2019 I have incorporated distance runs, circuit training with calisthenics, and heavy lifting once or twice a week.
Training style similarities: I consistently put conscious efforts in my training both years. Although my training styles varied, I set clear defined goals on what I wanted to set out to do.
Send me a DM if you are ready for a sustainable transformation!

Keeping it simple🔽
I repeated a workout I did 2 weeks ago- Three 1.5 mile runs with 100 pushups in between.
How am I going to progress by repeating a workout? By pushing myself to run faster each run and complete each round of pushups with less sets.
The simplest workouts can be the most effective. Instead of trying every variation of an exercise of instagram and Pinterest, try pushing yourself a little harder and running a little faster. Your goals don’t always have to involve the scale or measuring tape- try running faster, completing more pushups in a minute, or simply add an extra workout each week.
This method has kept me interested and consistent since I was 14, let me know some different goals you can stride towards!

Exercise of choice: Pull-ups
If you only had time for one exercise, what’s the best bang for your buck? 💵For me, I would have to chose pull-ups. Pull-ups are a true test of strength that require strong biceps, back, grip, and core. ✔️
If the goal is to transform your physique, you need to work more efficiently by having shorter, but more intense workouts. Do this by putting exercises in your workouts that work multiple muscle groups and that challenge yourself. 🔥

04/30/2019

Here’s a great tip to start the week: Set a small goal for yourself to complete by Friday or Saturday. 🔽
When you have something to work towards you will have more drive to complete the task. Also, a great thing about completing small goals is that these little victories fuel your success for your larger, big picture goals.🥅
What are considered small goals? Maybe it’s holding off on food you crave until the weekend, completing a difficult workout, walking a couple extra days, or drinking a gallon of water each day. Make it positive and make it something you need to go out of your way to do!

How to never miss a workout:🔽
If you already have a jam packed day and something comes up during your workout, instead of cancelling your workout- Reschedule it!
Life happens and the truth is that making the time can actually be more different than doing the work itself. If it is enough of a priority you will find the time, but when something comes up; reschedule it for later on in the day or week! 💪🏻

04/18/2019

Some squats from earlier this week! Don’t stop when the sets over, stop when you’re finished! One of the easiest mistakes you can make is not pushing yourself. If your squats feel easier than last week that’s great, but you need to make the workouts harder so increase the weight or the reps and work through that next hurdle 👊🏻

Here are a few cool pics from the Spartan race last weekend! A lot of us are motivated to workout by weight loss and comeback stories. While I am inspired by these stories to help more people reach their goals, I have always been driven by setting out to do something and doing it. My mindset has kept me consistent for years and I have enjoyed every step of the way. Find what pushes you and start setting small goals, mindset is everything! Let me know what pushes you! @ Suwanee, Georgia

The 2 most valuable traits for beginners: consistency and patience. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see results right away, but the truth is that if you want long term results they aren’t going to happen overnight! Be patient- in the mean time set small goals for yourself and focus on being consistent with your workouts. If you are following month 1 of my program- make sure to document your performance during the workouts to track your improvements as we go! 💪🏻

I could come on here everyday and show you a different exercise or workout, but the truth is that most people actually struggle with time management. Have you ever heard yourself say “My schedule won’t allow me to work out” or “I’m going to wait to start until my schedule slows down”?
Give yourself enough time to complete your workouts by scheduling your workouts before the start of the week. Either wake up early enough to work out before work, pack your gym bag and work out on the way home, or work out during your lunch break. Comment below if you need helping fitting it in your schedule!

I don’t often post full core workouts because there is a common misconception that doing crunches will give you a six pack. You definitely don’t need to neglect your core, a strong core is very beneficial! However, if want visible abs you need either burn more calories or eat less. These plank ups are a great way to engage your core and work on burning fat! 🔥
If you are stuck and interested in trimming up to show off some abs, send me a DM so I can see if you are a good fit for my training program.

There is a time for fast reps and a time for slow reps. Regardless, keep the proper form to prevent hurting yourself. Today’s workout consisted mainly of circuits so the goal was to rest as little as possible and keep the body moving.

Mindset is everything. I rescheduled my workout last minute today to get outside and run. One of the benefits of working towards being in better shape is the freedom it gives you to improvise. I’ll still complete my weight training workouts for the week, but I’m not held to a strict schedule that would prevent me from enjoying a morning run!
Don’t be afraid to change it up! As long as you are hydrated and fueled any extra cardio just brings you closer to your goal!

Try these spider curls if you haven’t yet and isolate your biceps!

03/17/2019

Either you put in your efforts all week and are resting this weekend, or you had a busy schedule and used the weekend to finish your workouts. BOTH are fine! Just remember you are in control and if you want it bad enough you can wake up a little earlier on the weekend to make it happen!

03/16/2019

Crunches are great, but try some exercises that engage the rest of the body as well. These Spider-Mans are great for the obliques, but you also build a stronger core by trying to stabilize yourself. I like to focus on one side at a time to isolate.

It’s important to stay focused, but if you don’t find a way to enjoy the process you will burn yourself out. Leaning out and changing your body composition is challenging so constantly reflect on why you started and the positive things happening throughout the journey. @ Suwanee, Georgia

Have you trained your legs yet this week? Training legs helps burn more calories and mixing in strength training will help you build a stronger core and lower back so never skip leg day!
