The best defense against coronavirus

Great article from CNN.
In summary, the best way to prevent any virus or flu is to maintain good hand hygiene. Keep in mind that “the Covid-19 is much less deadly than severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS), which are also coronaviruses.” Also, “while at least 60 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the US, no one has died of it here, while this year's influenza has infected at least 29 million in the US and killed about 16,000 so far.”
Therefore, don’t panic! Wash your hands!

Dr. Colleen Kraft of Emory University writes that washing hands and protecting medical workers are our best chance to keep the coronavirus epidemic from spreading further.

Here comes a much needed splash of cold water...

Do not panic about the Coronavirus! If you have not received a flu shot yet, please do it now. The flu (total deaths have reached 10,000 according to CDC) is more of a danger to the US than the Coronavirus.

Overall, we have to remember that the media wants to scare us … listen to the healthcare professionals you trust...

A fellow pharmacist posted this this morning:
“PSA after dealing with CVS/Caremark for myself yesterday: if this PBM is telling you that you have to use mail order or CVS they are incorrect as of 1/1/2019 in the state of Georgia. You have the option to keep your current pharmacy if they are in the network and not pay more than you would at a CVS. After getting the runaround, they conveniently overrode my prescription when I pushed the issue that I’m in Georgia where this is not legal anymore. If you or your patients encounter this or receive a letter stating otherwise, please contact the insurance commissioners office as he is very interested in all details or PM me and I’ll be more than happy to get this information to his office!!! Let’s make this the year to stop CVS/Caremark from taking away patient choice in the state of Georgia and put the power of choice back in the hands of the people!!!”
