I’ve been reflecting on how much of our lives we spend trying to fix ourselves.
Always something to figure out. Something to heal. Something to overcome before we can finally feel whole.
But what if wholeness was never about being without cracks?
What if those tender, imperfect, unfinished places weren’t evidence that something was wrong with us?
Not everything that opens us is breaking us.
And perhaps the most profound shift isn’t becoming someone new, but no longer rejecting who we already are.
Wholeness isn’t the reward for finally fixing ourselves.
It’s the experience of no longer having to reject parts of ourselves in order to feel whole.
Cracks and all.
And that’s how the light gets in.
Inspired by Leonard Cohen’s Anthem.
